With the recently formed FNZ Group Operational Efficiency team, there is an exciting opportunity to join one of the hottest areas in FNZ and in our industry. This includes analysing existing business problems and designing core strategic solutions to improve automation, reduce risk and generate capacity benefit. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders at all levels including business analysts, other software developers, project teams and Operational Functions.

The Role

Developers at FNZ are all-rounders who analyse required system changes, design databases, write complex financial business logic and create slick web applications, delivered through .NET, C#, React, SQL and other technologies.

As a Developer within FNZ Group Operational Efficiency, you will work in dynamic team focussing on delivering a world class asset servicing function that will help FNZ meet the needs of our clients. You will have the chance to enhance and fine tune your coding ability while developing real financial platforms with a global industry leader.

Development
  • Interpret complex financial business requirements and translate into high-transactional, high-availability, secure and working systems.
  • Design and build the highly intuitive user interface and interactive financial tools required by financial advisers and investors.


Design/Quality
  • Provide solutions and recommendations for the resolution of technical issues that arise and ensure solutions meet the technical specs and design requirements.
  • Help design and build APIs and external system interfaces for integration into core FNZ products and third-party vendor applications.


Analysis
  • Assis the Analysts in the creation of user story definitions and acceptance criteria.
  • Work within the constraints of the feature/user story to define the underlying detail of the required changes.


Collaboration / Communication
  • Promote the development team both internally and externally. Ensure that creative solutions, tight code, tough problems solved are called out appropriately to the developer community, and where they lead to visible outcomes, to the broader FNZ teams and clients.


Experience / Background
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably a Computer Science or similar degree.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages - Microsoft .NET development products, including .NET, C# and SQL Server.
  • Commercial programming / internship experience.
  • Passionate about coding, problem solving and creating innovative solutions for customers.
  • Understanding of software delivery life cycle and development.
  • Independent, self-directing and delivery focused working style.
  • Capable of dealing with complex problems & environments.
  • Have strong analytical and design skills.
  • Organisational, administration and time management skills
  • Understanding of web services.
  • Familiar with code analysis or automated testing tools.
  • Familiarity with financial products and markets is a plus.
