About the role
Managed out of JBWere and supported by the Private Wealth business, the Fixed Income Sales Trader will be responsible for execution of fixed income transactions for the Self-Directed Wealth network. As the subject matter expert, you will provide expertise on investment ideas, training, and ongoing support to Investment Specialists, therefore building awareness across NAB Private Wealth franchise.
Develop the Fixed Income business through providing expertise to the front-line sales for Self-Directed Wealth and driving acquisition of new business and retention of existing business through client presentations, seminars and promotional activities.

About the role

Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of Self-Directed Wealth end-to-end execution flows
- Accurate and timely execution of trading and sales activities to the Self-Directed sales team, providing thought leadership and knowledge on investor trends, trade flows, market movements (e.g. EOD note, overnight wrap etc) trade ideas and opportunities
- Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- Assist with fixed income portfolio implementation whilst proactively managing risk
- Drive team efficiency by maintaining and creating appropriate tools, documents and procedures used by the Self-Directed Wealth offering
- Facilitate and educate the sales on different fixed income securities such as RMBS; indexed annuity bonds; inflation linked bonds and foreign currency bonds
- ~5+ years' experience within capital markets, investment management, trade execution, managing underwriting risk
- Experience in an asset management or financial management company in a fixed income execution & sales capacity
- Strong understanding of Fixed income products and market drivers
- Good knowledge of global markets, domestic and leading global bond issuers.
- Sound knowledge of the wholesale investment and financial planning industries
- The ability to develop strong rapport with all stakeholders through communication
- Experience with Bloomberg is highly desirable
- Advanced Excel experience and skills (including macros / VBA)
- Well organized, attention to detail and able to meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
- Strong research and writing skills. Ability to breakdown and communicate technical/complex concepts to a broader audience
