Our client is a Sydney based Private Equity firm that provides long-term growth equity and early-stage capital to founders and entrepreneurs of outstanding global consumer companies. With an investment mandate that spans both growth equity and early stage expansion, there is an opportunity to take significant minority stakes in businesses entering an ambitious growth phase and also to take part in Seed / Series A capital raisings for early stage, high growth businesses who require external capital. With a dedicated focus on the consumer goods sector, the Fund has a quality portfolio of businesses and plays a key role in supporting these businesses and management teams with their growth objectives and global expansion plans. As the Fund continues to grow they are looking to add an Investment Associate to their team who can work as part of a small, collegiate and high performing unit. As an Investment Associate you will support the existing team with all aspects of deal execution, research and analysis of new opportunities and ongoing portfolio management and support. The work with the portfolio companies will be diverse and will be dependent on the businesses' needs and stage of growth at the time.
The successful candidate for this role will likely have gained 2-4 years' experience in either transactional corporate advisory (IB or boutique firm), transaction services within a big 4 accounting environment, equity research (with a consumer / retail focus) or from a corporate development function. You will have a strong financial background and training, analytical mindset and attention to detail that will be complemented with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build meaningful working relationships with Founders and Management teams, displaying high levels of empathy and commitment. You will be able to work in a small collegiate team, to work independently and will have a humble and hardworking manner.
