Overview of Division/Department

Our section is responsible to promote strategic initiative by (i) screening deals originated by the regional branches, (ii) providing strategic solutions for the new type of corporate and investment banking business opportunities, (iii) initiating start-up businesses by cultivating and deepening the relationship with venture capital and startup companies, (iv) planning and promoting ESG-related businesses, and (v) managing special asset in deteriorated customers, in the Asia-Oceania region.

Job Responsibilities
The current role available is in fund investment team which invests in venture capital in Asia Oceania region, to deepen the relationship with startup companies as future banking customers, and to collaborate with fintech startup companies to strengthen Mizuho's digital finance capabilities. This role requires multiple internal and external stakeholders. Job scope includes:

• Lead fund investment activities which would include analysis of the market with implication, interaction with the manager, due diligence/compliance (including liaising with internal and external advisors), approval applications and documentation, with the guidance from team lead.
• Support reporting and monitoring functions related to Mizuho's fund investments which would include reviewing, completing or submitting (as applicable).
• Provide assistance with establishing the relationship with portfolio companies, and finding the angle for Mizuho's strategic purpose.
• Support the regional management to accelerate their business promotion ideas by coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Provide the strategic insights to build the business strategy for the bank's startup related business.

Job Requirements

• University graduate with strong academic background. A Bachelor degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent in the similar field.
• Minimum 3 years of experiences in investing in venture capitals or startup investment or engaging with startup companies.
• Growth mindset with openness to challenge to create something new
