Equity/FX Trader

Overview

LGIM America is looking for an ambitious Multi Asset Trader to join its Global Trading Team in Chicago.

Equity trading experience at a buy or sell-side institution is required with Derivative (Listed or OTC) or FX trading experience an advantage.

Successful candidate should be enthusiastic, a proven self-starter with a strong willingness to develop trading skills across different asset classes, a genuine global team player and have a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the execution of trades ensuring it is in line with regulatory standards, LGIM(A)’s policies, procedures and risk management practices at all times.
• You'll advise investment teams with different investment styles on trade implementation while providing relevant market information that identifies and creates actionable investment opportunities.
• Maintain and leverage strong relationships with counterparties across different asset classes on a global level.
• Work effectively within a global team structure, building close relationships with our traders & portfolio managers in Chicago, London & Hong Kong.
• Challenge and upgrade current processes and procedures while mitigating risk for greater efficiency, adding new ideas and initiatives to the team.
• Work with our Trading Research team to analyse, process and interpret large trading data sets to continually improve client outcomes.
• Remain informed about the evolving market structure, methods of execution and products as well as maintain competency on all trading platforms.
• Where required, cross-train to achieve competency in Listed & OTC Derivatives and FX trading.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years’ experience working in an Equity trading role, experience trading using algorithms required.
• Experience in trading Listed/OTC Derivatives or FX a strong advantage.
• Solid understanding of market structure & risk (impact, liquidity) as well successful experience in managing large numbers of orders.
• High level of attention to detail with a strong risk management mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative team-based environment.
• Ability to multi-task, trading different asset classes while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to adapt and learn new asset classes and products as needs arise.
• Strong analytical skills. Quantitative and programming skills will be additive.
• Strong work ethic, impeccable integrity.
