The Role Responsibilities
Job Summary
The role holder is responsible as team member of the WM Operations team to contribute to WM Operation Transformation agenda. WM Operations Transformation focus on strategic implementation of change intiiatives to streamline processes, enhance productivity, reduce risk and improve controls.
Strategy
  • Manage and track execution progress of approved initiatives to drive the Transformation agenda.
  • Support the development of the WM Operations strategic direction and roadmap, in alignment with the business strategy and investment appetite.
  • Work with WM Hive leads to ensure project deliveries are effectively implemented across operations geographies.
Business
  • Role holder will be execution of the strategy and identifying opportunities for streamline the operational processes through automation, OpEx and other initiatives.
  • Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of operations and drive standardisation agenda for WM Operations, maintaining rigorous cost and investment discipline across the business.
  • Ensure appropriate and insightful data and analytics that can drive business decisions.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with WM Business, COO / Operations, T&I, Risk and Compliance and Group Internal Audit to ensure alignment across stakeholder groups to support the tribe deliverables
People and Talent
  • Champion and act as a role model of the Group's values and culture.
  • Lead and support a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement, ensuring everyone in Operations are drivers and owners of client outcomes.
  • Set effective metrics and standards, transparently communicating them to team members, providing feedback and setting the appropriate tone and expectations for the wider team.
  • Employ, engage, and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
  • Ensure the provision of on-going training and development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risk.
  • Ensure team structure / capacity is reviewed to enable delivery of client outcomes.
Risk Management
  • Risk control and governance: ensuring oversight and driving improvement in the control and resilience agenda.
  • Developing a forward-looking end-to-end view across Wealth Management Operations environment and proactively identifying and escalating issues and sharing themes / lessons learnt.
Governance
  • Attend key governance meetings and Agile project committees in line with the governance framework and monitor projects over their lifecycle.
  • Develop Key Performance and Risk based metrics which enable Operations to demonstrate effective governance and oversight on processes, develop robust ORF (Operational Risk framework) for effective and smooth functioning of business and operations.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the WM COO Centre of Excellence team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key Stakeholders
  • Group, Regional and Country WM COO heads; WM COO Products and Head GBS WM Operations.
  • Global Client Journey heads - Global Onboarding Head , Global Servicing and Transacting Head, Global Head of BRM.
  • Functional Partners including Operations, T&I, Risk, Compliance, HR, Finance, Legal, Audit, etc.
  • Core Platform, CMPS, MI and Banca Hive product owners.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor Degree in any related field (Banking, Finance and / or Engineering preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in a change / transformation role in banking.
  • Strong skills in conceptual and quantitative problem-solving, aligning a broad range of stakeholders from multiple functions, and executing against a tightly defined timeline.
  • Excellent professional skills, including verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Project Management will be an advantage.
