The Company:
Is a Top-Tier International Investment Bank head-quartered in Sydney. The bank has recently embarked on a large scale, bank-wide (5 year) Digital Transformation Initiative, which included the complete re-architecture of the firm's Trading Technology stack.
The four main pillars of the transformation are:
Simplification = Consolidating similar systems that do the same thing
Automation = eradicating needless manual processes wherever possible
Digitisation = modernising all of their client facing front ends (new responsive technologies)
Data = utilising big data tools for more efficient and effect reporting & analytics
The Project:
As part of this program of work, the bank plans to build an innovative and future-ready Data Platform that will help the various capital markets business areas meet their customer's needs, be regulatory compliant and be able to confidently translate and use their data.
This team will take ownership of all data across all financial product groups, they will focus on data-gathering, analysis and then visualisation to the business areas.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer within this program of work, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and development processes necessary to continually deliver high-quality software. This includes collaboration between development and operations teams, automation of build, deployment, and testing processes, and the creation of tools to improve the reliability and security of systems. The main focus of your work will be to optimise the software development lifecycle in order to minimise downtime and speed up delivery times.

Responsibilities:
- Automating the deployment, scaling, and management of applications using AWS services, such as EC2, S3, and VPC.
- Writing scripts in Python to automate infrastructure and application tasks, as well as for building and testing applications.
- Building and deploying containerised applications using Kubernetes and Golang for automation.
- Ensuring the reliability and scalability of the infrastructure and applications, and monitoring system performance.
- Collaborating with development teams to integrate the software development process with the deployment pipeline.
- Developing and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Implementing security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and technologies in the DevOps domain.
- Strong experience in AWS, Kubernetes, Golang, and Python.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, shell scripting, etc.
- Experience in building and deploying containerised applications.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Strong understanding of network and security concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
