Your new role

The Legal and Compliance Department is establishing an Information Management team in Hong Kong to focus on the firm's strategic initiatives in China.

Its primary mandate includes rolling out an operating model governing cross border data transfers in addition to other Information Management's overall book of work in this region.

Based in Hong Kong, this opportunity will provide the individual with a chance to work with a wide audience from different departments, jurisdictions, and seniorities to drive key business initiatives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Involve in the control and maintenance of a key artifact referred as the Master Data Transfer Inventory (MDTI) actively
  • Perform implication analysis related to the regulatory changes and how it might affect existing data transfers' classifications
  • Assess various data transfer requests in response to changes to the Firm's China's operating model
  • Produce and communicate analysis outputs and findings to stakeholders
  • Contribute ideas to the overall design of China's operating model and specific control framework around the MDTI
  • Involve in other Information Management's book of work as needed


What you'll need to succeed
  • Around 3-5 years of experience, preferably 2+ years working in financial industry
  • Expertise in data manipulation using MS Excel including usage of VBA, Power Query
  • Demonstrable experience in enterprise-wide programs
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to learn and to deal with ambiguity on the job
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to create high quality deliverables that are comprehensive, accurate, and customized to audience across levels and cultures
  • Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks and manage time effectively and independently
  • Familiarity with various data regulations such as PIPL, GDPR, CAC assessment an advantage
  • Business fluent Mandarin an advantage
  • Other data/business intelligence platform knowledge an advantage
