Who we are looking for As an ESG Summer Associate in State Street Global Advisors' ESG organization you will advance the implementation of State Street's ESG infrastructure, which supports the firm's goals of maximizing our positioning in the market and providing excellent service to our clients. As an ESG Summer Associate, you will report into the Head of ESG Operations & Administration. In this role, you will be exposed to leading industry standards for responsible investment, and you will learn about the investment implications of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. By collaborating with representatives across GA's business lines to ensure accuracy and alignment of public statements to internal practices, you will gain exposure to GA's business model and to our approach to ESG, a strategic priority of the firm. What you will be responsible for In this role, you will:
  • Work as part of the ESG Operations team to strengthen our ESG infrastructure, including collaborating across functions and teams
  • Monitor the firm's external ESG commitments, such as through leading industry groups, and keep senior leaders aware of requirements, including reporting deliverables and deadlines
  • Provide project management to help meet industry commitments, including the development of key ESG reports, such as GA's annual UN PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment) Report.

  • Strong written communication skills and verbal presentation skills to clearly convey requests and requirements
  • Ability to work independently to execute tasks, as well as to collaborate with teammates and other parts of the business to advance significant projects and initiatives
Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Academic or work experience in ESG topics such as climate change and environment preferred
  • Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks such as UN PRI or TCFD are advantageous

Salary Range:
$15,600 - $58,500 Annual
