Migration Lawyer | Melbourne | $70K - $85K Your new company
Hays have partnered with a growing legal practice specialising in Migration Law. We are currently looking for a highly motivated and passionate Junior Migration Lawyer. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced lawyers and learn from some of the best in the field.

Your new role
  • Assisting senior lawyers with research and drafting of legal documents, such as visa applications, appeals, submission and briefs
  • Attending client meetings and providing advice on migration law matters, including visa eligibility, visa options, and compliance requirements
  • Assisting with the preparation of applications and appeals to the relevant authorities, such as the Department of Home Affairs, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Federal Circuit Court
  • Maintaining and updating client files, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date
  • Assisting with the management of the firm's migration law practice, including coordinating with clients, interpreting case law and regulations and providing guidance to junior members of the team
  • Communicating with clients regularly, providing updates on the progress of their cases and responding to any queries they may have.
  • Participating in the firms' marketing and business development initiatives, such as networking events and seminars
What you'll need to succeed
  • A law degree from an accredited university
  • 1+ years PAE
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Good understanding of the Australian Migration Law, policies and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
