Lead Proposition Manager - Investment Solutions

The Opportunity:
  • This represents an incredibly broad role offering responsibility for leading the team that manages my client's evolving Investment Solutions across D2C, Advisory and Workplace propositions
  • Through your deep understanding of target markets, relevant competitive and regulatory environments, and the lifecycle of products, you will lead the Investment Proposition team in building the a unified proposition strategy, and representing "Proposition" within the wider Product teams and business
  • You will take a key role in driving the Macro Proposition Strategy, recommending improvements to enhance downstream client and business outcomes, and ensuring the Macro Proposition Strategy aligns with the Proposition strategy for my client's Investment Solutions - including products, services and tools across D2C, advisory and workplace propositions, the Investment Mission strategy and wider business strategy
  • Own responsibility for establishing, communicating, embedding and delivering an Investment Proposition roadmap that is fully aligned to the Investment product mission, meets business objectives and delivers an increase in commercial performance
  • Be a valued and active member of the Proposition Centre of Excellence Leadership team responsible for the line management of Investment Solutions Proposition Managers and Executives
  • Governance - accountable for governance of manufactured and/or distributed Investment products, services and tools to ensure they're being operated in-line with target market needs, product rules and regulations, and ensuring Investment Proposition products meet the requirements of Consumer Duty, are fairly priced and delivering good value alongside improving outcomes
  • Responsible for ensuring research into client and consumer needs in order to generate proposition ideas from an investment solutions perspective, along with defining target markets, safe delivery of products to their target client groups, and, where required, safe withdrawal from the market
  • Provide regular insightful analysis and intelligence of the market environment to key business stakeholders, combining competitor research / monitoring of relevant investment products & solutions, key industry and wider market trends. Additionally, maintain awareness of Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, and Legal landscapes
  • Identify, build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders


Your Experience:
  • You will possess as strong record of academic achievement, along with likely completion of relevant industry qualifications such as the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and / or Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
  • You will have demonstrable experience of managing and improving Investment Propositions from a similar financial services business (investment and wealth management platform / solutions business; life & pensions provider; asset / wealth manager), including taking to market and withdrawing where necessary, through evidence and data-backed strategies to commercial success
  • Have demonstrable experience of taking products through the end-to-end governance process, including defining target market, understanding client needs (including vulnerable clients), product development and approvals through the full suite of our governance bodies
  • Possess excellent knowledge and deep understanding of the regulation, competitive forces framing the savings and investments market, particularly around the manufacture and distribution of D2C, advisory and workplace investment solutions, and behaviours of appropriate target market segments
  • Have a deep technical understanding of manufactured and distributed products, services and tools, across channels (D2C, workplace, advice), tax wrappers and business models, e.g. in-house risk-aligned funds, model portfolios and portfolio construction tools
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of effectively working with and influencing key senior stakeholders, industry bodies and regulators
