Product Controller

Centrica Energy Marketing & Trading (EM&T) is the trading arm of Centrica. We trade LNG, gas, power and energy attributes - and connect independent producers, suppliers and corporate off-takers in the wholesale energy markets. We move and trade energy to satisfy the changing needs of customers.

Our offices span across London, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Singapore.

In the role of Product Controller, you will be the subject matter expert with regards to complex, exotic / structured / asset trades and business activities for Product Control. You will have daily interaction with trading as well as other control and support functions across the business.

This is a London based (close to Marble Arch) role and we encourage hybrid working with c3 days in the office and c2 days from home.

The Job role:

• Daily Production of P&L, Position and Risk reporting
• Daily Production of reserves (Price-testing, Bid/Offer, etc) and reconciliation of P&L to the General Ledger
• Daily IPV and EOD reporting, including involvement in reserve methodologies
• Ownership of Proprietary trading book P&L up to Gross Margin including reconciliation up to General Ledger
• Pro-active problem solving and liaising with appropriate groups to ensure smooth day to day operation of the team
• Cover for other members of Proprietary & Structured P&L team
• Ad-hoc analysis and query investigation
• Assist in the build out of the Product Control Target Operating Model (TOM).

The Person:

• Working knowledge of a trading businesses balance sheet
• Some Product Control experience gained from within a trading house or investment banking
• Understanding of trade Valuations & Risk factors
• Intermediate level Excel / VBA and strong knowledge of MS Office applications
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Problem solving skills and high level of attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Effective communication and sense of accountability and ownership of deliverables
• A true team player.
