We are looking for a Coordinator who will be responsible for p ayment services including processing transactions, ensuring orderly settlement and the payment of funds on assigned branch account/s.

What you will be responsible for:
Client Deliverables
- Process for verification instructions (direct deals, internal transfers, same day deals, manual entries, book entries, cash receipts/payments) as instructed by correspondent banks, branches and SSGM product teams
- Ensure all instructions from local SSGM teams and Global Services (Investigations and Financial Control) are authorised, processed, settled and reported in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure all instructions in the local cash systems (AUD) are submitted for matching and reconciled with SSAL. Any items not matched ensure appropriate actions are being taken within the agreed standards. Escalate with management where required
- Monitor the IBS MT, BESS queues, ensure appropriate actions are being taken within the agreed standards for the relevant currency
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
Risk and Controls
- Ensure full understanding and adherence to corporate risk policy and standard operating procedures
- Ensure all internal controls and audit requirements are met according to procedures/policies
- Ensure errors are minimised and SSBT's and Global Services exposure to financial loss is minimised
- Be aware of all business contingency plans (GS, SSGM, and Payments). Escalate issues that could result in the invoking of contingency procedures with your manager / supervisor.
- Respond promptly to client (internal / external) concerns, needs and requests
- Ensure all agreed deliverables and standards are met, participate in the resolution of problems as required
- Prepare and distribute daily/weekly/monthly reports as required.
- Provide management regular feedback regarding 3rd parties (SSGM, Nostro A/C holders, local agents, Investor Services)
- Demonstrate a willingness to support change / initiatives within Global Services (locally / globally)
- Demonstrate ability to take on tasks without instruction
- Assist with providing coverage to Payments Services and the operations department during times of increased workload, staff absences and public holidays
- Assist the supervisor in acting as a coach and mentor for new or inexperienced payment staff.
