We're seeking a future team member for the role of Lead Analyst, FED - Eligible Security Settlements to join our Markets Operations team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA / New York, NY - Hybrid Work Schedule (2-3 days per week in-office).

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Works with team to manage the day-to-day operational workflow related to FED-eligible security settlements (US Treasury, Agency, MBA and TBAs) on contractual settlement date and in accordance with trade details as booked in the firm's system, trade clearing, reconciliation, reporting and life-cycle events associated with the trades executed by the various desks
  • Handles wire processing related to trade settlement and margin collateral movements
  • Partner with the Repo Desk for daily funding requirements and collateral needs
  • Collaborate with operations teams, trading desks and technology to identify and implement strategic improvements
  • Assist with the implementation of industry initiatives and internal operational efficiencies
  • Perform ad-hoc requests, support and analysis
  • Document and Challenge Key Operating Procedures (policies and procedures) ensuring comprehensive final version that includes concise verbiage and consistent format as well as ensuring compliance to policies and establishing a control environment drive to mitigate operational risk
  • Exercises independent judgement and collaborates with multiple internal and external stakeholders to resolve any security, settlement, or payment issues
  • Candidate will work with lead to challenge and maintain updated operating procedures and document manual processes and control from a risk perspective
  • Regularly interacts with clients in answering questions and resolving multifaceted inquiries
  • No direct reports
  • Contributes to the achievement of team's objectives through consistent documentation of the team's challenges and successes within monthly management reporting

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 5-7 years of total work experience is preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of the trade process, and have the proficiency to communicate and address issues with internal groups, including rates trade support, cash operations, finance/accounting and clearing firms
  • Hands-on experience with products and trade settlement support
  • Knowledge of escalation and resolution of trade settlement issues and discrepancies
  • Experience in brokerage processing is preferred

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $53,000 and $112,750 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
