Position Summary
S&P Global is searching for qualified candidates to lead, develop and deploy the overall Procurement Enterprise Vendor Management, Vendor Governance and Vendor Performance Strategies. This position will directly assist the organization in establishing systems, plans, policies, and procedures to enable the Procurement Function to achieve these objectives. This role will establish and lead an international team of 17-20 Procurement professionals.

Successful candidate must be able to work USA Eastern Time Zone hours regardless of location.

Strategic / Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Manage, Develop, and execute strategies for the Vendor Governance, Enterprise Vendor Management, and Buying Desk teams (18 FTE)
  • Serve as a point of escalation for any existing legal language contract conflicts outside of risk appetite.
  • Determines the spend analytics approach and operating model with the Procurement Reporting team and Procurement Category Management.
  • Ensure the Enterprise Head of Vendor Management is Partnering with Engagement Owners, Vendor Managers, Procurement, and the business to support the End-to-end Vendor Management program
  • Work closely with our Third-Party Risk Management Team (TPRM) in managing risk and to help shape a framework to manage risk effectively
  • Develop and executes Vendor Performance Roadmap, by overseeing performance data, develop dashboards and conducting analytics. Socializes with senior management when necessary
  • Oversees the onboarding/qualification process of new vendors
  • Oversee and approve conformity to SOX control on banking changes in a highly regulated industry to include approval of bank changes and non-standard payment terms (may be delegated)
Process / Analytical Responsibilities:
  • Owns the synthesis, extraction and analyses of performance, compliance, and spend data. Develops and implements procedural changes, new methods, or automated systems such as Business Intelligence tools, to establish dashboards and reporting related to cost, quality, quantity, contracting, sourcing, risk, etc.
  • Serve as the Vendor Governance Secretary for both the Vendor Governance & Executive Vendor Governance Committees (VGC and E-VGC)
  • Ensures the Approval Authorization Matrix (AAM) and Vendor Contract Signature authority Matrix (VCSAM) are enforced with full traceability for internal audit and quality controls
  • Oversee VM standards and serve as a point of escalation from the Head of EVM or the business on critical matters
  • Liaise with the Category Management, Internal legal dept., Engagement owners, and VM's to enhance and optimize the VM processes
  • Identify additional opportunities with stakeholders and industry best standards for improvement
  • Ensures Divisional VMO offices work with Head of EVM to maintain compliance with the enterprise Vendor Governance Policy, SOPs, and various controls framework.
  • Create, delegate, and ensure SLAs/KPI's around the VM process are followed
  • Oversees Head of EVM to ensure Vendor Segmentation scoring/tiering and ongoing monitoring efforts are effective
  • Owns the governance structure/framework with the Vendor (QBR, Executive Meetings)
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of VM Policies and procedures for the enterprise
  • Accountable for VG adherence and compliance enforcement tasks and reporting, executed by VG Leads
  • Responsible for SPGI's tactical sourcing through the solicitation of quotes and evaluation of bids as needed for items below the bid threshold within the Buying Desk
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, finance or business management or related field
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills in English
  • At least 8 years of supervisory/management Leadership experience leading a diverse and global team of at least 10 personnel
  • Exceptional project management evidenced by a track record of success leading engagements or other problem-solving initiatives requiring coordination of cross-function team members with varied backgrounds and skills
  • Advanced proficiency and Full understanding of business processes and the role of data in compliance, risk management, and regulation
  • Strong Customer Centric focus and able to interact with SVP & C-level stakeholders and compliance teams
  • Proficiency in Analytical & Presentation Skills
  • Industry knowledge of Procurement Operations risks and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of Vendor lifecycle management including onboarding, service delivery, compliance, termination, and reporting
  • Experience leading, designing, and managing governance processes with geographically dispersed service providers and stakeholders
  • Experience in supplier relationship management, KPI and performance management
  • Strong customer service orientation, adept at cultivating and sustaining value-add business partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to gain consensus through collaboration
  • A passion for the advancement of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) related initiatives.
A Plus if You Have:
  • Master's in Business Administration (M.B.A) a plus
  • Experience leading a F100 Corporate Vendor Governance Program a strong plus
  • International experience a strong plus
  • APICS, or ISM certification in Supply Chain a plus
  • Black or green belt Six-Sigma a plus
  • Basic Knowledge of Ariba, Coupa, or other P2P Applications to include BI tools (Tableau, QV, etc.) a plus
  • Previous change management and transformational experience strongly preferred

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $107,100 to $210,300. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
