We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager/Senior Manager, Actuarial Analytics, Global Integrated Reporting

Principal Responsibilities

The jobholder will be a member of Analytics and Controls team within Global Integrated Reporting (GIR) team. GlR team is responsible for alignment of IFRS 17 reporting across the wider Insurance Group, and standardise the reporting production as far as possible. Following are key responsibilities of the role:
  • Reporting review: Review and challenge of the IFRS reporting results, including participation in governance forums to provide Group advice / challenges to financial analysis and management actions
  • Methodology and basis review: Review and challenge the reasonableness of actuarial approach, methodology, assumptions, simplifications and any actuarial judgments applied in IFRS17 reporting, to ensure compliance with the underlying IFRS 17 policies, controls and risk framework including participation in basis review committees
  • Result communication and consolidation: Fully understand the IFRS 17 reporting results from local entities and support formulate group 'story' around the numbers. Participate in the preparation of Group management information packs summarizing actuarial reporting results / project outcomes for various stakeholders
  • Controls review: Support remediation / review of risk of failure of actuarial control cycle for processes related to IFRS 17 reporting for all the major markets across Asia and Europe
  • Support external audit and SOX reviews: Work with teams across entities to advise and assist them in meeting the external audit and SOX requirements
  • Stay on top of development / changes in the accounting policy, methodologies and processes, to ensure early assessment of IFRS17 results impacts, strengthening the SOX controls, documentations around the production process etc
  • Stay aware of market practices, new topics discussed by industry discussion group and/or market survey/statistics conducted by consultants and regulatory bodies
Requirements

Requirements
  • Experienced, qualified actuary with recognised professional body (e.g. IFoA, SOA etc.)
  • Solid experience in life insurance industry or consultancy firms
  • Good technical understanding of IFRS 17 reporting, including broad understanding of various other financial reporting frameworks
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with expertise in presenting and producing high quality reports at governance forums
  • Prior experience on statutory audit and SOX reviews will be an advantage
  • Experience in prophet modeling or similar actuarial software will be an advantage
