Role: Associate Director : S&P Global Ratings Credit Research & Insights

Location: New York, NY

Team: S&P Global Ratings Credit Re search & Insights. We are the primary source of credit research within Ratings. We deliver forward-looking, actionable insights on market-moving trends and their effects on credit-leveraging our proprietary data, analytical expertise, and cross-discipline approach. Our research includes risk assessments, rating transition analyses, and credit market forecasts.

Overview : The Associate Director will play an important role in developing liquidity risk research for the corporate debt markets encompassing data from across SPGI . This is a new initiative for CR&I and the role will include building the data infrastructure , identifying critical data sets to connect to the core framework, as well as developing and delivering innovative , market leading thought leader ship and data sets . The role will be the lead research associate overseeing the project from the bottom up including building the core database structure with the database developer assigned to this project.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage databases (including Access, Oracle SQL and Databricks) , including writing queries and data manipulation , which will form the infrastructure for th e liquidity risk analysis.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research, and various statistical analysis to analyze trends .
  • Write commentary to support analytical observations .
  • Stay actively abreast of financial market events and their implications on the corporate debt and leveraged finance markets.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Q uantitative and numerical skills, preferably with at least ( 5) years of experience querying and analyzing fixed income and macroeconomic data. Prior experience aggregating and interpreting company and sector-level financial data a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of the mechanics and dynamics of the corporate debt markets , including primary and secondary market activity . A specialty in leveraged finance is preferred.
  • Experience interpreting and translating data and market trends into written commentary - highlighting key insights .
  • Excel knowledge and experience with database and statistical tools (Oracle SQL , Python ).
  • Experience presenting to internal and external audiences .
  • Team player with track record of collaboration with cross functional and cross regional teams .
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, take initiative, and meet deadlines without supervision .
  • Prior experience working with leveraged finance preferred.
Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $103,800 to $206,350. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
