The Role Responsibilities
The Test Manager is a key member of TDS Chapter of the Client Journeys Hive and responsible for managing Testing (both Manual and Automation testing) and ensuring delivery of high-quality software that meets functional and non-functional requirements. The role holder will form a key part of a fast-paced, ambitious, delivery programme.
Strategy
  • Testing of assigned chapter aligned business priorities.
  • Test manager needs to be hands-on with both manual and automation testing.
  • Able to write test cases, do manual testing when required and able to develop automation testing.
  • Create and manage an efficient testing team.
  • Well versed with any of the industry level automation tools like Selenium.
  • Oversee and manage execution of the testing activities, including resolution of defects and timely escalation of blockers and impediments.
Business
  • Manage end to end testing process as per the sprint goals (both functional and non-functional).
  • Design, develop and manage TDS automation testing tool and keep the tool updated to with latest functional and non-functional changes.
  • Partners with business and other technology teams in the Bank including Security, Networks, and others to ensure shared deliverables properly testing.
Processes
  • Coordinate work with all workstream and facilitate scrums to track and report progress and unblock impediments.
  • Drive the Agile Transformation of the team to the new Ways of Working in alignment with Agile practice and usage of collaboration tool (Confluence, JIRA).
  • Develop opportunities for process standardization and efficiency across hive delivery portfolio.
People & Talent
  • Manage the Testing team spread across different TDS squads both Permanent (SCB Staff) and Vendor Staff
  • Coordinate across different teams and locations
  • Capability development of the team/ unit
  • Conducting appraisals, feedback & handling work allocations for direct reports & reviewing the same for indirect reports.
  • Managing the career growth, motivation & retention for team members.
  • Good Stakeholder Management Skills
Risk Management
  • Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment within the organisation.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risk that would impact the overall success.
Governance
  • Ensure adherence to, bank-wide technology, cloud, security, and architecture standards.
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.

Other Responsibilities
  • Represent the team to management and management to the team.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure a healthy, refined Product Backlog for the team.
  • Responsible for teaching and coaching Scrum values and practices.
  • Ensure adherence to delivery schedules and attendance at Daily Stand-up meetings.
  • Remove roadblocks and obstacles where the team is not able to do so.
  • Assist the Product Owner in shielding the team from external interferences.
  • Enable close cooperation across all roles and functions.
  • Facilitate team member specialization and generalization of tasks.
  • Schedule Sprint Reviews at the end of each sprint with the Product Owner.
  • Schedule and facilitate Sprint and Release Planning meetings.
  • Primarily a facilitative, servant leader and a Scrum process coach.
  • Monitor Sprint tasks to ensure success but does not create or assign tasks (the team creates and assigns tasks).
  • Regularly and physically meets with the team members.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years of experience, Manage end to end testing process as per the sprint goals (both functional and non-functional).
  • Design, develop and manage TDS automation testing tool and keep the tool updated to with latest functional and non-functional changes.
  • Test manager needs to be hands-on with both manual and automation testing and able to write test cases, do manual testing when required and able to develop automation testing.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is a plus.
