About our client
Our client, a growth focused impact investor are looking to hire a Junior Legal Counsel to their growing Zurich team. The fund focus on high growth, scalable businesses across various sectors including technology and healthcare. With just under $5 billion AUM and a recent successful fund raise, the investor are looking to expand their legal team in order to assist with a range of fund-related tasks including regulation, compliance and corporate legal matters. This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified Lawyer or senior Paralegal looking to continue their career within the private equity legal sphere.
The Junior Legal Counsel will work alongside the European Legal team providing generalist legal support across a wide range of projects, including management across the whole fund life cycle.
What the job involves
As the Junior Legal Counsel you will be an integral part of the funds legal team and be afforded plenty of responsibility from the start. On a daily basis you will report to the General Counsel whilst working closely with the broader legal team across the fund's multiple regions. You will also be responsible for:
  • Assisting in-house Senior Counsel, in conjunction with other team members, with a wide range of fund-related matters, such as establishment, service provider agreements and coordination and process refinement, regulatory and tax matters
  • AML/KYC processes and on-boarding in coordination with the Compliance Team (fund, investor and portfolio companies)
  • Drafting and review of general commercial agreements
  • Resolving legal and procedural questions in the context of local and international banking services, finance and fund laws, prospectus updates and distribution requirements
  • Organising and preparing board meetings and shareholder resolutions, drafting minutes
  • Providing professional input on and contributing to a variety of other legal and corporate projects
Who we are looking for
  • Financial law experience gained from with a law firm or asset manager working across international jurisdictions
  • Private Equity and funds experience / knowledge is advantageous
  • An understanding of European Tax Legislation would be beneficial
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical skills with an entrepreneurial and solution oriented mindset
