TTS Trade business provides a wide range of solutions across key product pillars including Trade Documentary Services (eg. LCs, Collections etc.), Payables and Receivables Finance, Trade loans and Export & Agency Finance (EAF). The key objective of this role includes building a robust trade portfolio with a special focus on commercial banking target market, i.e. small/medium-sized emerging corporates in Hong Kong. The role requires close engagement with clients, product and coverage teams to build a sustainable and market winning portfolio. The candidate will be required to run with strategic initiatives to expand trade penetration among existing and new commercial banking clients.

Hong Kong is a regional trade hub and Citi's clients have significant trade and related financing needs. Given ongoing supply chain shifts, evolving new business models, GBA initiative, and explosive growth of ecommerce - significant new opportunities are anticipated in the trade and working capital space within commercial banking segment. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a complex fast changing business and make an impact. This role is based in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve targeted Trade wins and revenue growth for HK Trade business and across Commercial Banking priority names.
  • Lead client engagement and focused calling efforts to identify opportunities and develop customized solutions covering trade services, trade finance, supply chain finance, receivables finance solutions.
  • Partner with Commercial Banking teams to develop sales strategy, originate trade opportunities, build pipeline, drive deal structuring and transaction execution.
  • Work with the product partners to ensure product offering is competitive in service, function and price.
  • Execute and monitor development on existing wallet assessment to identify opportunities.
  • Keep track of portfolio revenues, drivers and monitor against planned target.
  • Drive deal approvals and engage with multiple stakeholders across product, legal, risk and external partners as necessary to structure and execute on deals.
  • Develop and use knowledge of import export flows across Hong Kong/China in particular, and Asia region in general to identify trends and opportunities in the Trade and working capital space within Commercial Banking segment.
  • Aid in building a strategic roadmap / campaigns by sector/location to improve market share and client penetration.
Skills / Competencies:
  • Superior client management & deal negotiation skills. Ability to develop creative and innovative solutions; build relationships and coordinate diverse groups to deliver for the client.
  • Extensive Trade experience across products. Must possess strong analytical, risk assessment and credit skills.
  • Ability to work independently, lead deal execution and activate the trade network (product, risk, compliance, legal, etc.) are critical.
  • The individual will work on multiple deals across time zones and manage to tight client deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience; extensive years of client facing experience in handling commercial banking clients, preferably in HK/China.
  • Mandarin and Cantonese speaker is preferred.
