Morgan McKinley is looking for a Tax Manager who wants to work for a national organisation based in the Dorset area.

My client offers ability to work in a hybrid model of 2 days working from home after probation. We are looking for someone who is looking to join a growing business working with entrepreneurial business owners, supporting them with the running of various businesses ion multiple industries.

You will be managing the Tax team, supporting the business and being involved in transactions from planning, through implementation and on to reporting. Whilst your key responsibility will be tax compliance, there is ample opportunity to expand your tax advisory knowledge and experience.

This is a permanent role, offered with the progression opportunity to partner/ senior management, 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays, private healthcare, life assurance and more.

Reporting to the Finance Director you will be tasked with the following:
  • Work closely with the Family's external tax advisers (UK and worldwide).
  • Ensure all the Family's personal tax records are maintained, required claims and returns are prepared and payments are made accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify tax reportable items or tax issues, as they arise.
  • Source solutions and/or flag to senior management team.
  • Work closely with our internal teams and external advisers on the tax aspects of an extensive portfolio of tax efficient and venture capital investments.
  • - Ensure all necessary tax compliance is completed for UK Trusts. Manage the Trust Register ensuring updates are processed as required
  • Assist the Deputy Head of Office with IHT compliance for UK Trusts and Family members.
  • Review VAT Returns for a variety of trading companies from a tax compliance perspective
  • Review draft Corporation Tax computations for a variety of companies.
  • Support our Finance Team with responses to technical enquiries and requests for information.

What you will need:
  • Experience in job roles such as Tax Manager/ Tax Director/ Tax Senior
  • Team management/ supervisory experience
  • Must be CTA qualified or equivalent
  • Have strong Technical and Tax - corporate and personal experience
  • Have up to date knowledge of the regulations, tax, and accounting principles
  • You will need to have worked in a practi8ce previously. Although this role is in industry, there is a really close link to the practice environment- without the timesheets!
