The Role Responsibilities
Working closely to support the Head of Communications, TTO and senior TTO CABM members, this role will play a key role in the operational and service delivery of the TTO Communication department. This role requires a fast learner with keen interest in building a career in the in the communications field with an eye for detail and continuous improvement. This role will be expected to provide fresh perspectives, adding value to processes and project management while supporting the delivery of Bank-wide employee engagement and external communications strategies.
  • Partner with other Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing (CABM) teams as appropriate to leverage functional expertise and spokespeople to ensure the effective use of current and future communication/content platforms used in the Bank. These activities should extend to the delivery of compelling content creation for media relations, social media and thought leadership/executive engagement.
  • Adopt the use of technology and provide innovative solutions in support of the Head, Communications, TTO as well as being a point of contact (POC) for the communication domain partners, with focus on growing awareness and instilling governance around our communication guidelines and processes.
  • Proactive approach in understanding and sharing industry best practices and look for opportunities to effectively implement communications initiatives and campaigns.
  • Drive cross-CABM work to further CABM's strategic initiatives and find opportunities to promote and build awareness of our TTO strategic priorities.
  • Practice effective risk management, escalating issues when needed.
  • Be a proactive and 'value-add' member of the People & Culture Communications team and the CABM function.
  • Support the execution d of internal and external communications strategies to support the TTO strategy through the adoption of our current and future platforms and systems (e.g., aXess, intranet, poppulo, etc.) while looking at opportunities to improve with our client needs in mind.
  • Support the TTO comms teams to drive the strategic planning, development, and implementation of our internal and people strategy communications through events management and planning (eg, townhalls, Leadership Team meetings, etc.)
  • Provide advice to the TTO Engagement Specialists that sit within the function on the effective use of platform and channels and scheduling media training sessions.
  • As point of contact (POC) for our TTO Comms Squad, play a primary role in managing the monthly calls with the aim to improve collaboration and share best practices.
  • Show creativity and adopt innovative approaches in driving engagement, considering our transformation agenda as well championing our D&I and Sustainability agenda in TTO.
  • Ensure that our success stories both in TTO and CABM are captured and shared in the respective news platforms for the specific audiences (intranet, newscast, social media, etc.
  • Work with the TTO communications/CABM network of partners to develop and determine effective communications approaches and develop two-way communications for real-time feedback.
  • Accountable to risk control owners and/or Group policy owners for the implementation of policies and control standards set by them, ensuring compliance, and operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite and building a culture of good conduct.
People & Talent
  • Ensure selected team members have strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.

  • Identify, report, and escalate issues, risks, business intelligence to leadership.
  • Ensure that tone of voice, messaging, and behaviours are aligned with the corporate narrative when we engage and communicate internally and externally.

Our Ideal Candidate
We're seeking a dynamic and resourceful self-starter who can hit the ground running and be a change agent.
2+ years of communications experience within a major corporate.
Must demonstrate creativity and a passion for innovation in your work, with a keen interest to learn and adopt the latest communications best practice and trends.
Data-driven mindset.
A strong drive to succeed and ability to execute tactically.
Strong emphasis on multi-tasking and ability to prioritize workload while managing multiple stakeholders.
Understanding/experience in agile ways of working is a plus.
Effective spoken and written capabilities, with a passion for storytelling.
Flexibility to work in high-pressure environments.
Ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships.
Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior management and third-party vendors, across multiple locations.
Experience of dealing with the media is a bonus, as is issues management.
