Job Summary:

Product Management - Leads product management, development and strategy for significantly large and/or complex products of strategic importance. Role is not always tied to a specific product. Usually assigned to product areas with high-growth potential or that represent a niche/specialty offering. Our digital assets strategy focuses on extending our core products to support this new asset class, building brand new businesses, and leveraging DLT as a capability to transform our services and modernize our infrastructure. Our Enterprise Digital Assets drives the strategy, design, and execution of digital asset initiatives in the Bank in partnership with teams from lines of businesses and functions. As a part of the line of business team you will focus on digital assets and blockchain product development, Fintechs to build next generation products and capabilities.

Analyzes complex client requirements and develops solutions that may include more than one product.

Must understand the economics behind products and demonstrate business acumen. Responsible for crafting the strategies behind product development and delivery.

Must have market knowledge to integrate the demands of various regions and stay ahead of competitors. Is directly responsible for product across a range of large, complex, global products.

Ensures Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, etc. team concerns are addressed during the product development, enhancement, delivery, strategy, and planning processes.

Demonstrates in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of assigned products, the marketplace and client need to drive product growth/development and maximize profitability.

Seen as a firm expert on a Digital Assets/DLT/Smart Contracts.

Creates product management roadmaps and establishes evaluation criteria and success metrics.

Guides junior product managers and directs and works with operations and systems managers during product implementation to ensure operating plan goals are met. No direct reports.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 10-12 years of total work experience preferred.

Experience in Technology Product Management, operations, client management preferred.
  • Define and execute the Digital Assets strategy, feature & functionality for the product informed by client demand, market dynamics and regulations
  • Partner with business, technology, product, and functional teams to identify new digital assets opportunities
  • Provide digital assets/Smart Contract/DLT expertise to businesses and functions
  • Articulate the business impact and driving the strategic design / roadmap and execution; drive senior executive discussions and workshops
  • Engage with FinTech and other vendors to deliver solutions and capabilities
  • Establish and deliver cross enterprise initiatives and capabilities for supporting product developments

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with digital assets, DLT and Smart Contracts strongly preferred
  • Candidates with good understanding of business drivers, technology landscape, market structure, regulatory environment and trends in securities, institutional banking is preferred
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytics, structured thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presenting ideas in an impactful manner for senior audiences
  • Ability to work effectively across the across stakeholders in functions and regions including building trusted partnership with and influencing senior stakeholders across the organization

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $98,000 and $216,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
