Role description and opportunities

The Marketing Data Scientist will be responsible for driving analytics projects across key channels that we utilize to engage clients include the website, email, paid and owned digital and events. This is a key role will sit in our data and analytics center of excellence, to deliver actionable insights and drive business results globally across marketing and communication. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in expanding the analytics reach to drive greater data and measurement capabilities. We're looking for candidates with strong experience in developing strategic reporting and driving growth through data driven insights.

There will be the opportunity to leverage our growing world-class data infrastructure and collaborate with a global community of data analysts. This role will be participating in significant strategic cross-functional collaboration and working with global teams and vendors.

You will work with business stakeholders, engineers, communication and marketing teams to do hands on design and deployment of new analytics dashboard supporting tactical and strategic marketing and communication decisions. We're also looking for thought leaders who can help guide and teach our marketers how to effectively use data to maximize effectiveness. This role will help guide our thinking in global marketing investments and supply the data needed to make informed strategic marketing decisions on planning, investments and campaign initiatives.

Key responsibilities include the following
  • Lead analyses aimed at understanding the true impact of marketing efforts on revenue drivers, including but not limited to multi-touch-attribution and media mix modeling efforts
  • Lead data science/advanced analytics projects including cross-sell segmentation, propensity modeling, next-best action models to improve conversion rates
  • Drive the development of testing roadmaps aimed at understanding the true incremental impact of our online & offline marketing channels; both overall and at a segment level
  • Automate data ingestion from various first and third-party data sources, synthesize data, perform QA to ensure data accuracy in order to drive insights that will support business growth
  • Implement innovative new approaches to improve marketing strategy through data collection and mixing to find greater insights
  • Lead marketing data and analytics insight generation, strategic initiatives, design test plans, create segmentation, dashboards, drive personalization and obtain cross-functional alignment to create greater business intelligence
  • Incorporate on-us and off-us, offline and online data to create a 360 view of our prospects and existing client activity to drive more relevant, timely & personalized communications
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to inform budget allocation decisions across marketing channels and to drive increased transparency around marketing performance
  • Build close interactions with business units, the digital team and support their growth targets via understanding business needs & providing concise, insightful & timely analyses around key business trends
  • Create self-service dashboards, training, guidelines and governance that provide data driven marketing insights within Adobe Analytics including. Provide self-help guides on data usage, dashboard usage and benchmarking for Adobe analytics on our website and social channels
  • Develop a deep understanding of B-to-B marketing strategies and lead analytics for strategic global campaigns to guide effectiveness and efficiency
  • Play a leading role in advancing marketing data maturity through partnering with the enterprise data management teams

A successful candidate should ideally have these qualifications
  • BS or Master's degree in analytics or a data degree preferred
  • 12-15+ years in marketing, website, social media and business analytics with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Great communicator who can articulate the value of data to drive strategy and can clearly convey complex data to stakeholders
  • Experience with the development of performance dashboards on website analytics dashboards such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics or Heap
  • Prior experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience ingesting & integrating data from various first and thirdp-party data sources, experience with Alteryx preferred
  • Basic understanding of major digital media channels data such as SEO, paid social, email, social media, events, website both earned, owned and paid
  • Persuasive verbal and written communications skills; with high intellectual curiosity and work ethic
