About this role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join a growing team in Shanghai. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take part in complex investment transactions and execute deals across various funds, single asset, and other bespoke strategies. A successful candidate will challenge and develop his/her technical skills and expand his/her industry network given the broad range of investment processes he/she will be involved in, within a top tier global financial institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct due diligence and evaluate private equity managers for consideration as part of fund-of-funds and or separate account mandates; secondary private equity transactions; co-investment opportunities across a broad range of private equity deal types and sectors
  • Perform due diligence on private market fund managers across China, including assessing the quality of investment teams, investment strategies, alignment and track record
  • Present investment opportunities to the Investment Committee through written and oral presentations, and conduct required follow-ups
  • Coordinate the execution of investments across all deal types, including working closely with internal (e.g., internal counsel, compliance, cash management) and external parties (e.g., private equity managers, external counsel)
  • Monitor the performance and risk profile of existing portfolio investments
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6-8 years of experience in Private Equity/ PE Fund of Funds / Co-investment or Secondary / Other Private Markets Investing in Asia-Pacific
  • In-depth knowledge of China investment market with experience of dealing with various PE funds in China
  • AMAC license is mandatory
  • Excellent modeling, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Native in Mandarin, strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong organizational skills to oversee production of a high volume of quality work within tight timeframes, often including multiple simultaneous projects
  • Attention to detail, team player, self-driven
