Join our expanding Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) business in an Index Structuring position, focused on the development of systematic options and futures-based indices across all asset classes. We transact with a global portfolio of institutional clients via swaps/certificates on our indices.

Quantitative investment strategies have performed exceptionally well in recent years and is a rapidly expanding area where innovation is key. Macquarie has a strong platform and rapidly growing client base in this space, and we are looking for someone eager to learn more about this area of finance.

The Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) business sits within the Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) group and benefits from the broader expertise across commodities to develop market leading strategies in that space, as well as in Equity Indices, FX, Bonds and other markets.

As an Analyst within the team, you will be responsible for:
  1. Researching and back-testing innovative algorithmic investment strategies
  2. Helping to launch new strategies by being involved in the complete product development life cycle (idea generation, back-testing, working with Sales, Trading, Legal, Calculation Team, pitching the idea internally/externally)
  3. Running bespoke analysis and responding to client queries by working closely with Sales and Trading
  4. Working closely with the broader Structuring team to learn and share ideas relating to cross-asset QIS product development

We are looking for personable, technical individuals with a creative flair who are proficient with coding in Python. A focus on the details, clear communication, resilience, and problem solving and some understanding of quantitative investment strategies is essential. Familiarity with concepts such as index and returns calculations, systematic trading strategies, futures and options valuation and portfolio construction will be helpful. The role would suit someone with 1-3 years of technical experience in a quantitative role or background.
