APAC Head of Trade and Working Capital Solutions
Job Purpose:

Trade and Working Capital Solutions is part of the Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) business of Citi. Trade and Working Capital Solutions involves a broad range of funded and unfunded trade products and solutions including the following product segments:
  • Core Trade (formerly Documentary Services, including insurance letters of credit, export and import LCs/guarantees)
  • Working Capital Solutions - encompassing Receivables Finance, Payables Finance and Working Capital Loans
  • Export Agency Finance

The APAC Head of Trade and Working Capital Solutions role includes the setting and execution of regional product strategy across the groups described above, along with:
  • The setting and execution of the regional Client strategy, across Sales, Client Executive and Client Success teams, for both the BCMA and CCB client segments;
  • Regional returns and asset optimization, including growing distribution of Trade assets for the Asia Pacific region;
  • Regional portfolio credit and operational risk management, and;
  • Regional talent development

The above to be done in partnership with Global function partners across Product, Client, Financial Resources and Risk Management.

It also involves engagement with Operations and Technology partners to ensure the safe and stable delivery of services to clients and evolution of the end-to-end business focused on competitiveness, simplification and resilience.

The role reports directly into the Global Head of Trade and Working Capital Solutions, matrix reporting to the APAC TTS Head. The APAC Head of Trade and Working Capital Solutions is also a member of both the APAC TTS Executive Management team and Global Trade Executive Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

The role will involve the following:
  • Meeting financial goals - this includes revenues, RoTCE, expenses, cost of credit, net income and developing a regular process for monitoring all the above key financial matrices.
  • Meeting non-financial goals - this includes growing share of APAC wallet, demonstrating growth in existing and new clients, increased business volumes and operating efficiency across product and client segments.
  • Working closely with the APAC TTS Head and Global Trade Head in formulating a business strategy. This would include close involvement with product and sales teams in the region and across the globe.
  • Developing a strong partnership with ICG client coverage seniors and industry specialists. This would include region and country management i.e. CCO, Banking Heads, Independent Risk etc.
  • Ensure APAC is aligned with new product development priorities globally and other key business development initiatives as set by the business.
  • Developing talent in the trade team, through internal development and external hiring of talent to fill gaps / target opportunities, along with creating a culture of excellence, execution, client centricity, innovation and strong risk, control and compliance.
  • Working to maximize collaboration and partnership with TTS Sales in jointly managing trade origination across the entire spectrum of our clients across the region
  • Providing support and direction into executing structured value added solutions for our clients
  • To regularly review in partnership with the country teams and the risk managers - the credit quality of the trade portfolio and to take appropriate steps to minimize cost of credit.
  • Foster a strong "one team" mentality and seeking to maximize collaboration, cross-sell & team spirit across the teams in the region
  • Strong partnership with the trade implementations and operations teams constantly seeking ways to improve client experience, process efficiency and minimize operational losses/errors.

Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent preferred.
