Job Summary:

Job Duties:
Position Overview: The purpose of the role is to help grow HKEX's franchise in South East Asia. The Associate will report to the Head of ASEAN Issuer Services and support the Global Issuer Services Team in marketing and promoting HKEX as a listing venue with targeted South East Asian companies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Head of ASEAN Issuer Services to identify and broaden corporate client networks in the region and assist in originating IPOs with HKEX
• Conduct in-depth analysis of peer exchanges (listing rules, exchange volumes and investor flows) and collaborate closely with the wider HKEX team to prepare best in class pitch material and position HKEX for success with potential issuers.
• Perform industry research, financial and valuation assessment on key target businesses and work closely with various stakeholders to analyze relevant data and prepare insightful presentation material for internal and client discussions.
• Assist in client relationship management and organization of marketing events to profile HKEX within the regional financial markets and ecosystem.
• Actively engage with market participants, and proactively grow innovative business development ideas and initiatives to market HKEX.
• Help with thematic industry analysis and internal processes as necessary.
• Contribute to the team staying abreast of market developments among leading global exchanges to get a pulse on changes to rules, key transactions and visible pipeline.
• Contribute to the team staying abreast of market intel on new/growing businesses in the SEA region.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline.
• At least 3-4 years of experience in the financial services industry, including IPO transaction experience.
• Strong interest and experience in analyzing 'new-economy' companies and conducting relevant financial and valuation analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter, strong work ethic and a team player with a 'can-do' attitude.
• Comfortable working in small, high impact teams with demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills.
• Must be comfortable balancing research and analytical work with client presentations and engagement.
• A 'finger on the pulse' individual who enjoys seeing projects through to fruition.
• Commercial, motivated, creative, enjoys learning, and remains calm under pressure.
• Languages: Fully fluent in English, written and spoken. Additional South East Asian language capabilities (eg Bahasa Indonesia / Thai) viewed favorably.
