Who we are looking for:

State Street is committed to bringing it full platform across software, data management, outsourced services, trading, banking services and direct indexing to the global Wealth Management market.

Initially, our focus will be on software, data management, services and direct indexing in the US, followed quickly be expansion globally.

You must have vision, drive, and the ability to execute, together with superior leadership skills.

You will directly report into the Head of State Street Alpha, join the Alpha leadership team and work across State Street to achieve our Wealth Services strategy .

You must have the ability to lead by example and will be expected to be actively involved in major sales opportunities and C-Level customer relationship management.

Market knowledge of the wealth management industry, is preferred but greater value will be attached to the ability to lead, attention to detail, critical analysis, the ability to provide quality relevant, feedback and mentoring to staff.

Why this role is important to us

State Street has made a strategic commitment to build and grow Wealth Services, similar to our current, global Services platform leadership position with Institutional Investors. We are starting with a strong foundation for our platform across Charles River Development, Alpha Services, Global Custody and SSGA index capabilities. You will be launching our Wealth Services business and growing it aggressively a key strategic business similar to how we launched State Street Alpha for Institutional Investors in 2019.

What you will be responsible for
  • Direct global responsibility for managing a new business unit, State Street Wealth Services, across all Investment Services products, e.g. CRD, Alpha Services, and Custody including a new Direct Indexing product in partnership with SSGA.
  • Managing full Wealth Services P&L driven by CRD Wealth initially with significant growth expectations across all products and services by 2025
  • Managing all aspects of the Wealth Services business working across State Street globally including strategy, P&L management, strategic partnering & M/A, sales, marketing, product development, engineering and service delivery
  • Establishing a clearly differentiated, competitive position for Unified and Separate Managed Account (UMA/SMA) servicing
  • Standing up a brand new Direct Indexing product with SSGA in the US launching in 2023.
  • Establishing strategic partnerships globally for Wealth Services.

  • Previous experience in a similar role, e.g. managing growth businesses and and executing within a global trust bank environment
  • Proven record of strong stakeholder and client management both internally and externally.
  • A strong track record of building and leading high-quality teams and instilling in them a performance orientation, engaging and inspiring in them a sense of shared purpose and the collective skillsets needed to deliver stretch goals.
  • Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills
  • Strong management skills and the ability to proactively plan and execute on objectives. Ability to coach and develop senior level managers.
  • Must be comfortable and able to credibly engage and build relationships with C-level management
  • Strong price and contract negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Proven ability to implement industry and technical best practices.
  • Strong contributor with high motivation and the ability to take initiative and delegate effectively.
  • An analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems
  • Deep commercial acumen; having managed a P&L previously with focus on growth and business development
  • An executive presence and the ability to interact and influence effectively at senior levels both internally and externally.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • A university degree is required - a business management, finance or technical degree is desirable.
  • Proven experience in a similar or relevant role e.g. Head of Region, Managing Director, CEO, SVP


Additional requirements
  • Experience in the Global Wealth Management and/or Institutional Manager Software and Services industry is preferred
  • Must have the ability to display depth and understanding of market, solutions and product content
  • Must have technical acumen to understand products, competitor products and strategies, customer requirements, objections, articulate advantages and mentor staff.
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
  • Experience in the mitigation of risk and meeting all compliance & legal requirements
  • Comfortable in engaging with senior-level client leaders, at industry events, and in the media - must be able to connect with various audiences

Salary Range:
$225,000 - $337,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
