JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Offered -Designation - Sr. Analyst - Investments & Products - ESG
Department - Investments
Location - Mumbai
Sub- Department - Research
Position Reports to - Head, Offshore Advisory
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We would like to add an ESG Research Analyst to our equity research team, with primary task to performing ESG related due diligence on companies. An ideal candidate would have good understanding of ESG framework, knowledge of the key parameters for evaluations within various ESG components. Understanding of the ESG related regulations in a rapidly evolving global landscape is critical.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE
- Coordinate and provide research inputs and conduct ESG due diligence on companies for BNP’s global ESG research team
- Conduct on-field interaction with companies, evaluating their ESG risks, preparing ESG risk notes and monitoring compliance
- Strong financial work on the ESG scoring methodology and evaluate the ESG scoring for the companies
- Create guidelines, checklists, procedures to align with the best sustainability practices and Impact framework & ratings
- Support the Investment team by assessing and managing the ESG risks and opportunities within portfolio
- Develop tools and metrics to track, evaluate and monitor the impact measurement across the portfolio
- Ensure ESG rating readiness for both internal & statutory audits
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Educational Qualification
- CA/CFA/MBA or Postgraduate in Engineering preferably in Environment, & Sustainability studies
Technical & Professional Knowledge required (What someone NEEDS TO KNOW)
- Deep understanding of the ESG philosophy, framework, regulations & key parameters
- Strong in financial modelling, Quantitative & Strong analytical skills
- Understanding of financial / capital markets
- Good in Excel, Data base management
- Knowledge of data science methodologies, Python, R would be an advantage
Experience Required (What someone NEEDS TO HAVE DONE)
- 3 – 8 years of analytical experience
- Exposure in financial services and/or consulting backgrounds
- Exposure of ESG Framework, Risk and Impact measurement
Essential Competencies for the role (Competencies that need to be demonstrated or how they NEED TO BEHAVE)
- Relationship management with regulatory authorities and stake holders
