We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager IWS Transformation and Business Architecture.

Principal Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to be part of the Investment & Wealth Solutions (IWS) Transformation and Business Architecture team, within the IWS COO who are responsible for supporting the IWS Global Product Heads in translating strategy into deliverable capabilities and managing these through to implementation, and in BAU.

The role encompasses, but is not limited to, capability development, solution design, target operating model and process design, investment case management, execution management, business readiness, change management, change and business governance, risk management, operational management, and vendor management. The role holder will play a significant role in the combination of the Global Private Banking & Wealth (GPB&W) business and for the enhancement of the IWS products, solutions and propositions, globally.

This role primarily focusses on:
  • Design, development, launch and maintenance of IWS product capabilities and propositions across all markets within GPB&W, working closely with the Global Product Heads, Global Functions and local markets
  • Design, implementation and oversight of the new global product target operating models
  • Gathering of business requirements and testing of platform solutions to deliver new capabilities
  • Creation of Capability Investment Cases, effective cost control management and ensuring effective commercialisation post go live
  • Management of the global capability delivery roadmap and drive delivery across markets
  • Business SME input into related IWS projects
  • Management of 3rd party service providers engaged in the provision of services to IWS
  • Management of the oversight activities required for all outsource arrangements, including the collation and timely production of KPI, KRI and metric data for submission to relevant committees
  • Management of the global product business governance, risk and control environment
  • Work with the Global Product Heads and Local IWS COO teams to ensure outsource arrangements, procedures and processes supporting IWS services are comprehensive and appropriately managed
  • Ensuring the correct implementation of new and revised Global HSBC policies
  • Working closely with Global Functions to ensure that the IWS offering remains compliant with Global HSBC policies and Local Regulatory requirements
  • Identifying, managing and then owning the resolution of operational risks associated to IWS including the design, implementation and operation of new controls, updating and maintaining the related processes and procedure manuals, where appropriate
  • Owning, managing and resolving relevant issues raised via reviews conducted by Audit, Regulatory Compliance, Sales Quality, FCC etc and co-ordinating global read across to identify common occurrences and prevent repetition.
  • Assisting with the effective delivery of the IWS governance and oversight framework including the timely collation and production of associated governance packs/papers, KPIs, status reports and business performance metrics
  • Attending relevant GPB&W and IWS governance committees including the global and local product committees, IWS ExCo, Global Risk Oversight Committee, as required
  • Assisting with all, and any, aspects of the wider Global IWS COO team, as and where required. This may involve product management of other asset classes; implementation of regulatory projects; risk & control oversight for wider IWS COO team

  • Good understanding of Agile, the change management lifecycle, outsource management and risk & control oversight
  • Strong understanding of investment products and capabilities within a Private Banking or Wealth environment (one or a combination of Advisory, Managed Solutions, ESG, Capital Markets and Insurance and Financial Planning)
  • Proven experience in an environment that demands organisational agility and getting results through effective management of processes; possess capacity to define problems, analyse causes, assess options and find effective solutions; ability to relate to people at all levels both internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of Front to Back processes
  • Experience of defining and writing process and procedures.
  • Practical experience working within a global product/business management role with a good understanding of regulatory and risk frameworks.
  • Good interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
  • Highly organised with exemplary attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, driven and delivery focused, with a good understanding of project management disciplines and techniques
  • Highly adaptable with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, communication and analytical skills.
  • Recognised strong organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Understanding of GPB&W Strategy and the HSBC Group
  • Certificate in Investment Management and/or other recognised professional banking/investment qualifications beneficial
