Who we are looking for
We are currently seeking a Network Engineer to join our internal IT team here at Charles River. This role reports to the Charles River IT Network Manager and is responsible for
our networks and access worldwide. Due to the hands-on nature of this role,
a local candidate is required for on-site work at our Burlington, MA corporate offices.

The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.

What you will be responsible for
As a Network Engineer you will:
- Data Center Management of all networking equipment
- Configure and upgrade firewalls and switches
- Provide 2nd level support to end users facing advanced network issues
- Understand and follow network security policy
- Review network policy, create documentation and assist with audits
- Create and support Site-to-Site VPN tunnels to Vendors and hosted locations
- Provide weekly project status
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years minimum of Networking experience
- Knowledge of Wireless, TCP/IP, subnetting, routing protocols, and firewall operations.
Advanced understanding of switching concepts: ACLs, VLANS, MLAG, trunking, NAC/802.1x - Palo Alto Firewall Suite Administration, including Panorama, and Wildfire
Nice to have but not required:
- Knowledge of Extreme Networks switches and Wifi
- Scripting/Automation experience
- Juniper SRX configuration
