Job Description

BlackRock Alternative Investors ("BAI") is a fast-growing business unit within BlackRock, offering clients access to global leading investment solutions across the entire Alternatives spectrum. BlackRock anticipates significant growth in Alternatives and is seeking to hire a Vice President, Platform Strategy and Transformation. This position offers the opportunity to join one of the world's leading asset management firms at a time of significant focus on the Alternatives investment business.

A key priority of the business is to continually enhance and invest in this platform to enable growth. This role requires the candidate to both identify solutions to key business challenges and oversee their delivery. The successful candidate must therefore be able to proactively collaborate on the growth strategy; translate gaps into requirements; and design effective solutions which can then be implemented to solve for client, regulatory, commercial, or operating model needs.

Transformation duties:
  • Pursue strategic and tactical initiatives to enhance the platform and advance business growth;
  • Leverage strong quantitative skills to:
    • Develop and manage the transformation business case
    • Model the ROI of potential strategy scenarios
    • Synthesize various financial inputs (budget, hiring plans, transformation business case) into one multi-year plan
  • Own and drive various transformation related initiatives including but not limited to: process improvement, client experience enhancements, org design, outsourcing
  • Create and deliver executive-level presentations which communicate the objectives and status of the transformation strategy


Role Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of strategy consulting or related experience
  • Alternative and/or Asset Management Experience preferred
  • Ability to quickly produce management-level quality presentations, business memos and can synthesize key information using data and analytics
  • Structured critical thinker with superior problem-solving abilities who is able to organize people under pressure and pull in key decision makers to prioritize issues and engage with senior management
  • Intellectually curious with the ability to take initiative and deliver results in a matrixed organization
  • Results-oriented and able to "roll-up the sleeves" to accomplish necessary tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication, including facility with PowerPoint
  • Extremely high attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • BS/BA or higher in Economics or Finance or equivalent


For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $142,500 - $190,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
