STRATEGIC & OPERATIONS MANAGER: GCSD Regional Leadership across all Global Corporate Experience Division entities - Food & Beverage, Mail and Distribution, Hospitality & Reception, Global Travel and Corporate Card services. Responsible to deliver high quality and cost-efficient services across the NORAM region with the directive to embed continuous improvements. NORAM Mail Services Digitization Lead managing continuous transition of mail services to digital.

Description:

NORAM Lead
  • Provide NORAM leadership for all Global Corporate Services Division (GCSD) entities - Mail and Distribution, Food & Beverage, Hospitality & Reception and Global Travel services.
  • Management of GCSD NORAM support team (X team members)
  • Lead for strategic alignment of GCSD functions with business and global objectives.
  • Support global Commodity Leads for Mail, Travel and Corporate Card in managing and measuring vendor performance and output across the NORAM region.
  • Day - day operational management of approximately $7 million GCSD budget.
  • Deliver high quality, cost-efficient and internal client-focused services with the consistent directive to embed continuous improvements.
  • Represent GCSD NORAM on enterprise-wide real estate projects. Responsible for liaising with the Global Real Estate team regarding new fit-outs, office refurbishments and / or footprint consolidation.
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary.
  • Support RFQ, RFI and RFP efforts across NORAM to drive profitability and improve internal client experience.
  • Manage control processes and monitor adherence to vendor contract standards. Identify and address known risks and emerging issues and escalate as appropriate.
  • Capture and coordinate issues and concerns that impact our key stakeholders. Liaise with vendors, service providers and internal clients to ensure all issues and events which adversely impact our operations are mitigated and resolved. Serve as escalation point for internal clients.
  • Responsible for Mail and Distribution Services including on-site mailrooms and support for satellite office locations.
  • Provide project management and coordination support on Mail Operations projects.
  • Support the management and annual submission of Global Food & Beverage budget.
  • Vendor relationship manager for Mail and Distribution, Food and Beverage, Conference, Hospitality & Reception, Global Travel and Corporate Card Services.
  • Responsible for food service operations including Client Dining and Vending & Pantry services.
  • Responsible for Conference, Hospitality & Reception Services.
  • Responsible for regional oversight of Global Travel Program.
  • Responsible for regional oversight of Corporate Card Program.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on vendor spend.
  • Develop, monitor and implement initiatives and projects to establish, maintain or improve the quality, effectiveness, and satisfaction of Food & Beverage vendor service level.
  • Develop and evaluate feasibility of new services or enhancements to existing services.

  • Staff:
    • Responsible for regional GCSD NORAM coordinator / senior coordinator roles and outsourced contracted staff (Circa 60 roles)
    • Manage staff development and talent management processes.
    • Coaches and counsels' staff and participates in staffing, hiring and termination decisions.

Participation in compensation recommendations and annual pay reviews.

Corporate Services Leadership + Commodity Support
  • Provide support for all Global Corporate Services commodities - Food + Beverage Services, Reception + Conference Services, Travel + Transportation, Corporate Aircraft.
  • Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
  • Serve as escalation point for internal clients to address issues and concerns that impact our key stakeholders. Liaise with vendors, service providers and internal clients to ensure all issues and events which adversely impact our operations are mitigated and resolved.
  • Develop, monitor, implement initiatives and projects to establish, maintain or improve the quality, effectiveness , and satisfaction of vendor service levels.
  • Provide leadership to team to build and align annual Corporate Services objectives to ensure bank wide initiatives are met.
  • Provide analysis and implementation of Corporate Services staffing structure. Determine staffing and compensation recommendations and participate in hiring and termination decisions.
  • Develop and evaluate feasibility of new services or enhancements to existing services.
  • Custodian of all presentation material that will be communicated to Executive Committee members.

Global Head Food & Hospitality Services
  • Manage and measure vendor performance, compliance with contracts, management of Key Performance Indicator Metrics and Service Level Agreements, and service model enhancement.
  • Liaise with vendor management, provide guidance, conduct quarterly reviews and in conjunction with Global Procurement, conduct the bids and negotiate contracts for responsible remit.
  • Responsible for developing policies and procedures related to Food and Hospitality services.
  • Process invoices related to Food and Hospitality services., including reviewing invoices for accuracy.
  • Ownership and management of approximately $11 million GCSD budget.
  • Delivering a high quality, efficient, cost-efficient and client focused services with the consistent objective to embed continuous improvements.
  • Acts as the central escalation point for internal staff members, senior management, client contacts and external vendors.
  • Responsible for NORAM Regional & Global Foods Services GCSD staff, including outsourced contracted staff.
    • 539 vendor staff (145 US & EMEA F+B, 33 Hospitality, 34 EMEA Mail, 4 Mainland Europe and 323 India F+B + Pantry)
  • 5 direct BNY Mellon reports.
  • Management of global Food and Beverage services including CafĂ©, Coffee bars Micro markets, Vending, Pantry services and Executive Dining room.
  • Management of global Hospitality services including, Receptions, Concierge services, conference centers, lobby ambassadors, community managers, Switchboard services.
  • Collaborate with all GCSD Regional Leads (APAC, India, LATAM) on global Food and Hospitality initiatives.
  • Managed Spend approximately $25M

Projects:
  • Responsible for liaising with the Global Real Estate team in regard to new fit-outs, refurbishments, new building reconfigurations.
  • Ownership of Corporate Services Projects including RFQ's, RFP's, and performing feasibility studies.
  • Act as SME to give support on projects for other regions when required.

Supplier Management:
  • Provision of Service Reviews and project plans, responsible for the generating, tracking and management of reports for internal re-charging.
  • Review vendor supplied reports presenting KPI metrics and SLA adherence to evaluate and challenge performance.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with agreed contractual obligations, including but not limited to, agreed timelines and performance levels.

Risk:
  • Accountable for Corporate Services regional risk management and compliance with policy and procedures.
  • Establish and manage control processes and monitor adherence to vendor contract standard. Periodically review and challenge of processes to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Identify and address known risks and emerging issues; and escalate as appropriate.
  • Create a risk-aware culture within GCSD. Drive implementation of strategic risk programs as identified by BNYM policy.

BNY Mellon Staff:
  • Manages staff development and talent management processes.
  • Coaches and counsels' staff and participates in staffing, hiring and termination decisions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 12+ total work experience with 10 years industry / vendor management experience preferred.
  • Salaried position requiring fluid hours that are in alignment with service needs.
  • Superior knowledge of multiple functions and principles, including mail and distribution, food and beverage, global travel, conference services and project management.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • Experience with budget and business plan development.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for increased productivity.
  • Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $119,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
