Our Team

The Control Room monitors the infrastructure that processes USD payments. This includes the cash that flows through the clearing channels (Fedwire, CHIPS, and Real Time Payments) and SWIFT traffic. The Control Room is the hub for incident management and ensuring that issues are escalated and communicated appropriately. The Control Room provides benchmarking of key system indicators throughout out the day to ensure traffic is flowing; aiding with improvements and enhancements . The Control Room is also responsible of for bring up financial systems. The Control Room is highly visible bank wide and encourages team members to networks with many different areas of the bank.

The Role

Client Service - Provides quality support to clients with complex transactions and processes on a daily basis. Independently assists clients by responding to phone, email and other inquiries regarding company products, services and procedures. Responds to client questions on BNY Mellon product features and provides technical assistance for issues that have been escalated by junior team members.

Workflow and Project Coordination - Coordinate Control Room team's work and processing throughout the shift. Ensure completion of tasks assigned by leads and Management by team. Coordinate with staff to ensure Project tasks, assignment and goals are accomplished in a timely manner, following up as necessary. Assist with project coordination as direct inclusive of but not exclusive to gathering data, tracking progress and attending meetings.

Support Telecommunications RMA Processing - Serve as additional support for RMA processing in coordination with the Telecommunications team. Expand knowledge of RMA and TELC Function. Respond to internal and external clients as required.

Problem Solving - Researches and resolves moderately complex operational or client issues. Routes issues that cannot be addressed at point of contact to appropriate team, in accordance with documented procedures. Assists in providing status updates on problem resolution and outstanding issues to other teams. Assists with process improvement by contributing ideas to improve team efficiency. Works closely with technology and systems teams to ensure the system is efficient and incorporates any necessary risk mitigations.

Innovations and Continuous Process Improvement - Help drive innovation and continuous process improvement for the Control Toom and TelC. Assisting with identification, documentation, tracking and implementation for CPI's

Scope - No direct reports. Provides training and guidance to less experienced staff. Provides product knowledge and technical assistance, determining when the more complex problems should be referred to senior professional. Responsible for the quality and completion of own work.

Qualification -

Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

0-3 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in financial services operations preferred..

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $40,500 and $67,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
