How the role contributes to the success of FNZ
The User Assistance Team creates and maintains online help for our products. The online help is used by our clients and colleagues to understand, configure and use our software. As a Technical Author, you will be responsible for creating, updating and reviewing online help articles, ensuring that our users can access helpful, up-to-date information quickly and easily.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Write user assistance
- Write product feature descriptions
- Write client-facing mailshots
- Update documentation in line with changes to the software
- Update project/regulatory information
- Update technical reference documentation
- Update internal team documentation
- Peer review documentation
- Take ownership for specific functional areas
- Carry out pre-publication checks
- Publish online and PDF resources
- Work with product owners to understand the functional area and roadmap changes
- Work with solution delivery teams to understand changes to the software and delivery timelines
Essential Experience
- At least two years working as a technical author, writing task-based procedures for online help.
- Experience using technical writing software e.g. MadCap Flare.
- Confident using email, document, spreadsheet and messaging software.
Non-Essential Experience
- Experience writing for fintech software
- Experience copywriting for sales/marketing
- Experience of the Wealth Management and/or IT industries
- Experience using Git source control
- Experience working with HTML/CSS/Javascript
