Reporting directly to the Group Head of M&A, the successful candidate will provide M&A deal support on acquisitions for the Group
Core Responsibilities
• Assisting the M&A head will all aspects of the deal process
• Assist with the ongoing development of the group's M&A strategy, ensuring alignment with wider strategic objectives
• Ensure effective acquisition opportunity evaluation and assessment criteria are deployed and observed, using financial, industry and market information to inform analysis of acquisition targets
• Assist with the building of commercially robust business cases for acquisition projects; driving deal structures, pro-forma financials and synergies assessments
• Asssit with the transaction process, including due diligence activity and deal documentation; with the support of appropriate third party advisors
Background and experience
• 2-3 years M&A experience either as external advisor or in-house subject matter expert
• Strong knowledge of M&A activity and the ability to apply that knowledge in diverse situations
• Excellent educational background, with post-graduate qualifications (e.g. qualified accountant, Certificate in Investment Management, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to own an M&A deal from inception to conclusion
• Strong execution experience
• Experience of international M&A activity
• Proven ability to influence strategic thinking and direction
• A track record of successful line management and talent development
Personal Attributes
• Excellent communication skills; able to clearly and concisely articulate relevant information
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across functions and geographies
• Comfortable working with executive management and investors
• Organized and proactive; able to work independently and as part of a team
• Highly numerate and with an eye for detail
• Ambitious and keen to grow responsibilities within an organization
• Able to motivate and inspire others in the achievement of business goals
