Department Overview
Institutional Accounting provides portfolio accounting and reporting to clients of BNYMellon. The service provides the delivery, to agreed deadlines, of an audited market valuation for a portfolio or group of portfolios, together with supporting transaction details.
This team's primary focus is to work in partnership with internal stakeholders and fund managers, providing complete fund manager reconciliations.
We service a range of clients which include Corporate Pension Funds, Government Pension Funds, Central Banks, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Insurance Companies, and Investment Managers.
These clients invest in the full range of financial instruments that include Equities, Bonds, Forward and Spot FX, Derivatives and Money Market instruments amongst others.

Overview of role responsibilities
The role of an Analyst is to take a senior role in approaching the daily and monthly workload, and providing support to junior members of the team. It will be expected that the Analyst will process and review a range of investment portfolios, on a monthly or daily basis. This entails the validation of positions, prices, income and transactions between the records of BNY Mellon's Accounting platform, Custody and Investment Managers of the Bank's clients.
The Analyst will be part of a team that works in partnership with our internal service providers and fund managers and will have an active team playing role sharing the collective responsibility to ensure all team deadlines are completed accurately and within deadlines.
The Analyst will provide technical assistance and support to their team and the department on all financial reporting matters
The Analyst will set, demonstrate and ensure adherence to departmental processes so that the required standards of excellence are maintained and improved within the department
They will receive and effectively respond to queries and issues from external and internal parties. In certain circumstances they may be required to participate in ad hoc projects as instructed by their Manager.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar reconciliation or financial services role and has good organisational skills, a pro-active approach, and strong attention to detail. We work in a fast paced, busy environment, which is deadline driven throughout the month, and requires strong communication skills to ensure smooth delivery of client reconciliations. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is keen to progress, and to become an integral member of our reconciliations team.

Full time between 8am - 6pm (35 hours per week)
Monday - Friday
Overtime often required around key deliverable deadlines
