Who We Are
M&G plc is a leading savings and investments business which was formed in 2017 through the merger of Prudential plc's UK and Europe savings and insurance operation and M&G Investments, its wholly-owned international investment manager.
In March 2018, Prudential plc announced its intention to demerge the company with a premium listing on the London Stock Exchange. As an independent company, M&G plc has a single corporate identity and continues with two customer-facing brands; Prudential for savings and insurance customers in the UK and Europe and for asset management in South Africa and M&G Investments for asset management clients globally.
The name has changed but our purpose has not: to help millions of people to manage and grow their savings so that they can live the life they want.
Creating an inclusive culture at M&G Plc is critical to our success. We believe that this means promoting respect, developing talent, protecting our people and valuing our differences. We are proud to employ people from a wide range of backgrounds, experience and skillsets.
Our graduates will shape the future of our organisation, will you be one of them?
What is the Finance Graduate Scheme?
Our finance teams play a pivotal role in the success of our business by providing insight, challenge and delivery of robust, high quality financial information. As a function, we think creatively and innovate continuously to ensure best results for all our stakeholders.
The Finance Graduate Scheme will give you the opportunity to join this critical function and contribute to the future success of M&G plc, while at the same time, gaining valuable skills and practical experience that will shape your development as a finance professional.
The Finance Graduate Scheme comprises of rotations over a course of 3 years, during which time you will spend immersed within our different finance teams to gain hands-on experience of finance and accounting in a financial services context. During this time you'll work towards the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) Chartered Accountancy qualification. At the end of the scheme, you will embark on a permanent role in a team aligned to your strengths and interests.
Rotations will be across various financial reporting teams including group financial reporting, entity financial reporting for our key savings and investment subsidiaries, investment accounting and oversight, financial planning and analysis and business partnering.
What will you do?
You will learn from our highly experienced finance professionals and gain a wide variety of skills and experiences required to succeed in the world of finance. Graduates at M&G make valuable contributions to the teams they work in and will be involved in a variety of tasks focused on preparation of accounting books and records, assessment and development of financial controls, developing insight and analysis skills and presenting financial information to stakeholders and contribute towards various activities linked to the production of statutory and regulatory reporting and management information.
What training and development opportunities are provided?
You will receive comprehensive training support towards gaining the prestigious Chartered Accountancy qualification from ICAS. This will include study support, encompassing full financial support for study material, class and exam fees and study leave to prepare.
Whilst transitioning through the Graduate Scheme you will continue your learning journey with the support of a Professional Development Manager. You will receive regular feedback through rotation appraisals, allowing you to continue to develop and grow throughout the programme as well as have access to in-house training opportunities and a host of learning materials within our Workday learning portal.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for good communicators, problem solvers and hands-on individuals from any subject matter background, with a desire to learn and who have a genuine interest in finance and accounting. Candidates who succeed with us are self-motivated, capable of building and maintaining relationships and work effectively as part of a team.
We champion our ideas and are, at the same time, comfortable to have these ideas challenged. Candidates must be able to formulate their own opinions by thinking both analytically and critically about problems.
If this sounds like you and you have achieved a minimum 2:1 at undergraduate degree level, then get in touch with us to start your M&G plc journey.
