Role Description:

The Quartz Platform team is embarking on a new long-term comprehensive front-to-back program to further the continued success of the platform in the bank. We seek systems engineers that can design, develop, and successfully deploy solutions to continue evolving the capabilities of our grid compute framework.

The individual must have previously worked on a similar area involving distributed computation, ideally in the calculation and reporting of risk metrics in financial systems. The candidate be knowledgeable in typical workflows found in front and middle-office systems. They must show an analytical and practical approach to addressing issues around scaling compute and data-intensive workloads and must show knowledge of factors that ultimately underpin the performance envelope of parallel systems. The candidate must execute on frequently aggressive timelines to deploy solutions to the production platform using techniques to safely stage in changes on live running systems.

The main role will be in the development of new modes of operation for the platform to cover the demands of emerging workload styles such as heterogenous compute architectures supporting mixed CPU/GPU capabilities. Additional responsibilities include providing means to dynamically manage workload distribution, and further enhancing the capabilities of the existing platform to drive the platform's longevity.

Additional responsibilities also include supporting the operational aspects of the compute platform and ensuring the timely creation and gathering of diagnostics to support post-incident analysis.
