Senior Data Engineer
An exciting permanent opportunity to join our Data team as a Senior Data Engineer based in London.
The role
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help the Quants Equities teams to productionise successful proof-of-concepts by following the best practices in software and data engineering principles.
The person
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working as a Data Engineer using Python, Spark and HD insight clusters. You will have the ability to simplify and harden the existing Python research and production code base by applying the PEP standards, implementing tests and optimising the data structures. We will need you to also support to the portfolio managers in identifying new signals from structured/semi-structured data (textual/statistical and behavioural data) from various data sources using distributed cloud computing technologies.
We are looking for someone with effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills who can work in collaboration with the portfolio managers to provide a steer on investments, alongside providing support to the data analytics team through sharing knowledge and best practice. Having good attention to detail and the ability to be forward-thinking is vital as will look to you to identify innovative ways to improve the current process and support with the implementation of new ways of working.
