Fixed Income Trader role for a top foreign fund management
Purpose of your role
As a member of the China trading desk, you will be responsible for transacting in securities on behalf of company's onshore fund managers. This will require you to have a strong ability to communicate news and views to a broad and diverse team of investors and develop an understanding of their respective objectives and requirements. You will be expected to manage all your activities with utmost care and attention, applying market-leading trading skills and standards, and understanding the impact of your actions on all of company's funds and our reputation as a market participant and as an asset manager. As a trader, you will be a highly valued core member of the investment team and actively engaged with portfolio managers and analysts on an ongoing basis, including discussing credit trends, liquidity conditions or market technics, and ultimately influencing investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day transactions for onshore fund managers
- Strictly observe the confidentiality of the company's investment transactions
- Being able to demonstrate / explain Best Execution thought process through all market conditions
- Disseminate market news and commentary effectively
- Ability to filter and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information in a timely manner
- Comfortable explaining trading's role to existing and futures clients
- Proactively develop and maintain relationships with market participants
- Thought leadership within sector discipline. Identify and anticipate potential market impacts due to regulatory changes and ways to optimise trading strategies
- Able to articulate pre and post trade workflows and post trade analysis
- Provide input in Trading/Technology projects to help enhance and future proof trader workflows
- Possess the forte to run the franchise ensuring the integrity and consistency of the franchise is maintained.
- Responsible for functional test and emergency drill of trading related systems and platforms, and put forward business requirements for problems existing in the test and drill
- Knowledge of A-share market would be a plus and have capabilities to cover A-share Equities Trading when required
- Other work that requires the cooperation of the traders
Experience and Qualifications Required
- CIBM licensed required, AMAC license required or have the ability to obtain AMAC license before joining
- Knowledge and experience with onshore Fixed Income Markets, preferably 2~3 years of trading experience
- Solid relationship with onshore brokers and counterparties
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload effectively in a busy environment and to deadlines
- Articulate concisely how they have added value or demonstrate how they differentiate themselves from the pack.
- Solid understanding of derivatives
- Show enthusiasm and desire to grow and improve
- Fast learner, strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including fluent English and Mandarin
- Finance, business, economic or mathematical degree discipline would be advantageous
- CFA level 1 would be advantageous but not required
