About our client
Our client is an award-nominated private placement agent and advisory firm, it specialises in raising capital for private equity funds. Placement agents come in to advise private equity investors on the fundraising process and facilitate the process through its network within the institutional investment market. As an analyst on the team, you will enjoy fantastic exposure to private equity clients early on and will work closely with senior team members to prepare for and execute on fundraises.
Typically, private fundraising includes four phases; the first is winning the mandate; the second is preparing the offering to go to market; thirdly, marketing the vehicle to the institutional investor community globally; and finally closing the vehicle. Analysts/Associates are involved in all aspects of fundraising, usually for multiple clients simultaneously, each of which is probably at a different phase of the fundraising process. Analysts have extensive contact with clients, both in the preparation of marketing materials and during the marketing of the fund. - Maintenance of all fundraising-related documentation - including status reports, activity reports, roadshow calendars, investor profiles and agendas
- Conducting research and analysis into the private equity market - including fund managers (GPs), investors (LPs), various trends and specifics related to either GPs and LPs, macro-economic and micro-economic dynamics, as well as legal and regulatory compliance
- Preparing analysis on GP portfolios to enable deal teams to benchmark industry players and analyse capital flows both regionally and globally
- Supporting deal leaders on all aspects of deal management - including compiling and implementing action lists to ensure weekly tasks are completed, provision of investor information to LPs, due diligence requests and general follow up information requests about LPs/GPs
- Coordinating GP roadshows and logistics
- Relevant experience in Investment Banking, Lead Advisory, Asset Management, Fundraising and Investor Relations or Law
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and relationship building skills with colleagues and clients at all levels
- Strong technical abilities - experience using Excel
- Proven ability to produce and develop PowerPoint presentations
- Strong written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
- Ability to work well in a team
