The Firm
Our client is a specialist private credit investment firm providing commercially driven, entrepreneurial and creative debt capital solutions to corporate firms undergoing change and restructuring.
Their unique investment strategy is focused on asset-based financings, sitting within the mid-market range of £20m - £100m+, for corporates underserved by the mainstream debt market, across a wide array of industries.
The firm is a participant of a joint venture partnership with funds advised by a market leading global fund manager with in excess of $50 billion of assets under management, allowing for an established investment platform.
The Role: Investment Analyst
The Investment Analyst will play an essential part in supporting deal origination, execution and portfolio management, having a full scope of the transaction process and structuring of these.
The role offers the appropriate candidate a unique opportunity to assume real responsibility across varied deal flow in an entrepreneurial environment and contribute to the development of the firm.
The team comprises of a range of individuals from professional backgrounds such as investment banking and structured finance, corporate/debt advisory, restructuring, private credit and legal services.
Responsibilities/Duties:
• Assessment of opportunities, financial and credit analysis, structuring of proposals, preparation of term sheets and coordination of due diligence
• Preparation of credit memoranda
• Transaction execution, including negotiation of legal documentation and closing requirements
• Support of origination activities
• Portfolio management activities
• Support of other key business functions, including finance, operations, reporting and other ad hoc projects
Prerequisites/Requirements:
• 0 to 3 years post-accountancy qualification at a large accounting professional services firm, ideally with transaction experience within a restructuring, debt advisory, transaction services or other corporate finance team.
(This relates to having direct or relevant experience in a restructuring advisory.)
• Relevant Bachelor's degree required from a top tier institution alongside an excellent academic record.
• Must already have British citizenship, indefinite leave to remain or pre-settlement status - the firm will not sponsor visas.
• You must have strong analytical & technical skills, are result-oriented, with attention to detail and quality when delivering results under time pressure.
• You must be eager to continue learning the ins and outs of debt finance transactions and have a flexible mindset to take on complicated and new challenges.
• You must have proven project management and organizational skills.
• Advanced MS PowerPoint and MS Excel modelling skills - this will be tested in the application process.
• Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) program OR ACA qualification is a plus.
