Who we are looking for
The Data Platform team's mission is to engineer and deliver self-service, performant and resilient data service products for its internal customers (app-dev teams). Our platform products power analytics, reporting, machine learning, AI and data applications across the bank. As a product manager and an SME you will be working closely with Architecture, Security, Application & other Infrastructure teams to understand requirements and develop Product Strategy for Data Platforms contributing towards business goals. Working closely with Product Owners, you will create roadmaps and deliver the products. We are seeking an experienced, driven, technical product manager / subject matter expert(SME) who is passionate about improving data user productivity and defining the next generation platform products for how data services are produced and consumed.
Working closely with Product Owners in the space, you will own the responsibility of defining infrastructure processes and tooling that empowers our developers, data engineers and scientists.

This role can potentially be performed fully remotely from home within the US area.

What you will be responsible for
As Product Manager, you will
  • Establish the vision for next generation data engineering products.
  • Challenge the status quo and inspire people to think outside the box.
  • Efficiently execute to ship products and deliver impact for our data engineers, solving technical and operational problems as they relate to product development.
  • Lead conversations with cross-functional groups of engineers across Data Strategy, Data Platform, and Data Engineering to deliver on your teams' mission.
  • Build alignment across product teams, cross-functional partners and Leadership/Executive team
  • Develop necessary documentation for consumption by developers, operations team and users of the platform products
  • Communicate concisely with engineering and product leadership, and influence our technical strategy
  • Develop the product roadmap and build consensus on prioritization which drives product execution
  • Create processes for collecting feedback from users, and prioritizing requests across an expanding number of businesses
  • Define key success metrics and SLOs to inform product success and health
  • Providing guidance on database / platform design as and when required.
  • Sound knowledge of enterprise data management and engineering practices

What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role
  • 2+ years of product management experience
  • 8+ years hands-on DBA experience with data analysis and design using one or more Data Lake and Data Warehouse databases (Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Azure Synapse. Oracle Autonomous ...)
  • Proficient in Database management and Database concepts
  • Good knowledge of schema design, archiving, compression and purging of data
  • Ability to perform performance monitoring, analysis and tuning to optimize DB performance
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Be able to provide tactical & strategic direction from performance & scalability perspective of a database system
  • Skilled in data platform supporting tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager
  • Experience with one of the data replication platforms like Golden Gate, Attunity and Stream Sets
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and proficient in using developer tools
  • Identify areas of opportunity for process optimization and automation
  • A desire to become a subject matter expert(SME) in their field
  • Team player who is self-motivated with strong work ethics

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree level qualification
