The Role: Senior Financial Analyst
The Grade: GL11 (internal purposes)
The Location: Open to hybrid work options

The Team: The S&P Global Market Intelligence Finance team provides information, insights, and decision support to internal business partners to optimize financial performance, improve decision making and drive growth of the Market Intelligence business. The team regularly interacts with other divisions and corporate to support enterprise initiative and has a global footprint with team members based in Charlottesville, New York, London, Dallas, Denver, Raleigh and Manila.

The Impact: This role will be a key member of the finance team supporting the senior business line leadership team, working closely with them on investment initiatives and supporting the financial planning and analysis of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with providing effective finance decision support to S&P Global Market Intelligence business line senior leadership team
  • Support the monthly close process by analyzing monthly revenue, expense, headcount and other critical performance measures; research drivers of performance and provide variance commentary of actuals versus budget, prior estimate and prior year
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages to business partners to improve transparency and understanding of drivers of financial performance
  • Develop monthly forecasts and annual operating budgets for P&L lines including, but not limited to: revenue, ACV, compensation, T&E, training, outside services, software and deferred project costs
  • Track and report on revenue and cost synergy initiative progress and develop forward looking expectations of synergy initiative impacts
  • Assist with preparation and review financial models, investment funding requests and business cases to support business priority execution
  • Drive continuous process improvement with the goal of increasing efficiency and optimizing the distribution of work through automation, leveraging of centers of excellence and other solutions
  • Work independently and as a fully contributing member of a multi-locational team with challenging, often conflicting deadlines
  • Assist with preparation of materials for the Quarterly Financial Review, Quarterly Business Review and Board of Director deliverables as required
  • Perform ad-hoc requests and special projects as assigned
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math or related field. MBA and/or CPA with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP is preferred
  • 5+ years' work experience in Financial Analysis, Operations, and/or Accounting in a large, complex organization. Prior FinTech experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to tailor messaging to the intended audience and communicate complex concepts effectively
  • Demonstrated investigative research and analytical capabilities necessary to provide the leadership team with the accurate and insightful interpretation of financial information
  • Experience in dashboard design (e.g. Power BI or Tableau) and ability to provide focused, thoughtful visual display of quantitative information
  • Experience with SalesForce or other CRM tools
  • Highly proficient skills in MS Excel (Pivot tables, V-Lookups, IF functions, etc.) and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Oracle Financials or other similar financial systems. Anaplan and Oracle Smartview strongly preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $72,300 to $143,800. Base salary ranges are flexible based on experience and may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for a commission plan that is amongst the most competitive in the industry.
