Family Office Exchange (“FOX”) was the first and continues to be the industry-leading membership organization that brings together families, family office executives, and trusted advisors to build a community focused on peer exchange, continuous learning, and objective guidance. The community includes 8,000 family leaders and sophisticated advisors from 500 organizations in 20 countries.  We currently have a phenomenal opportunity on our Business Development team as:

Associate, Business Development

Working out of our conveniently office located in downtown Chicago in this hybrid role, you will be the primary resource for business development related to FOX event non-member attendees and FOX learning program sales. You will also have the opportunity to convert existing pipeline of “unworked” opportunities into new FOX event attendance and/or FOX learning program participants.  In this individual contributor role, you will operate as part of a global sales team headquartered in Chicago.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to market/sell/ member events that include in-person, virtual and hybrid events, including networking, peer sharing, learning and opportunity exchanges for our members, non-members as well as advisors. Our education-based programming that you will sell/market includes various live, hybrid and virtual workshops as well as learning curriculum that is currently in development phase.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales opportunities from our existing network, generating new qualified prospects, cultivate relationships, and convert prospects into FOX event attendees and FOX learning programs.
  • Primary responsibilities include developing sales strategies, growing event attendance and learning program participation, and meeting annual new business revenue targets as determined by FOX.
  • Responsible for managing and driving the entire sales process related to FOX event attendees, FOX learning programs and other potential sales.
  • Proactively generate new qualified leads through referral source development as well as other networking and marketing activities.
  • Leverage existing and inbound leads to grow event attendance and learning program participation, consistent with specific qualifying criteria established by the firm’s senior management.
  • Develop an understanding of the changing business needs that prospects face and effectively articulate the value proposition of FOX.
  • Participate in development and implementation of pricing and go-to-market strategies.
  • Systematically tracks potential relationships and progress including the ability to provide updates and reporting to management as requested.
  • Plan and execute effective sales strategies, plans and campaigns, in conjunction with Marketing.
  • Proactively follow-up with prospective customers of FOX regarding current and future offerings.
  • Actively participate in department meetings and daily activities to maximize success.
  • Assess opportunities to improve the client experience including process improvements.
  • Attend pre-workshop meetings, planning meetings and appropriate venue meetings as necessary to support the customer experience.

Professional Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of proven success in an inside sales role, with experience selling intellectual or intangible products or services. Prior business development experience in an association, membership organization or ultra-high net worth industry (“UHNW”) is a plus/strongly preferred.
  • Persuasive and engaging experience using phone as well as Microsoft Teams and other video-based communication platforms.
  • Technically proficient including a CRM or tracking system. Dynamics 365 experience is a plus.
  • Proven record of consistently meeting or exceeding personal/team sales goals. Team player with the ability to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment including the flexibility to changing needs within the organization.
  • Superior communicator: Committed to communicating with clarity and professionalism with teammates, vendors, members, and others. Comfortable using all available channels to ensure that the goals and realities of all projects are constantly and clearly communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Committed to process and product improvement through constructive and productive dialog.
  • Ability to think and react swiftly based on prospect’s needs and requests with the sense of knowing when and how to follow-up and follow-through with referrals.
