Stout’s Valuation Advisory professionals help clients gain confidence by bringing clarity to the most complex valuation matters.  As one of the largest independent valuation practices in the country, we provide specialized experience across a broad spectrum of industries.

Vice Presidents in our Business Valuation Practice work on a variety of assignments, including the valuation of businesses, securities, and intangible assets. 

Industry Focus:

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Managing projects and supervising Analysts and Interns
  • Performing corporate, fund and asset valuations including analysis of discounted cash flows, capitalization of earnings, comparable companies, merger and acquisition transactions, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment testing, stock option analysis, illiquid debt investments
  • Preparing written valuation reports for client presentation
  • Solvency and fairness opinion analyses
  • Developing client interaction and participating in due diligence meetings
  • Conducting company, industry, and economic research
  • Analyzing general economic conditions and industry specific conditions and trends
  • Participating in the hiring and training of Interns and Analysts

  • Shareholder disputes
  • Property taxation
  • Feasibility studies
  • Financing purposes

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Intermediate/advanced understanding of economics, financial theory and/or principles of accounting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills (primarily Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Relationship-focused (with clients, peers, management, etc.)
  • Entrepreneurial

Education and/or Training:

  • 4-year degree necessary with an emphasis in finance or accounting
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in business valuation. Must have experience in purchase price allocations and other financial reporting related assignments, as well as business valuation experience.
