Seeking highly motivated self-starter for an expanding team focused on investment pricing/valuation. Success in this role requires a strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail. You will have a visible impact on the investment data of the firm and is an integral part of Voya Investment Management’s data governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and provide recommendations to improve on the processes and procedures for ensuring accurate, daily mark-to-market of customer and company positions
- Review current processes and pro-actively make changes or propose initiatives to improve efficiencies in order to provide more effective pricing & valuation support to the business
- Evaluate processes for gaps in quality controls and build controls to ensure accuracy
- Communicate and work with external pricing vendors to challenge prices and understand pricing methodology
- Research and review price movements and variances, considering root cause of whether fluctuation is appropriate. Additionally, review prices that remain stale
- Monitor halted/suspended securities, notifying appropriate teams, when necessary
- Ensure process reviews and supervision of process and outputs are conducted in accordance with valuation policies
- Assist in preparing and presenting key valuation metrics to the valuation committee in a clear and concise manner on a recurring basis. Value and price private illiquid assets such as Commercial Mortgage Loans and Private Credit
- Complete other projects as assigned to support ongoing business and readiness for new investment mandates
- Approach recurring processes and project-based work with a control mindset
- Build and maintain quality controls around key valuation processes and data points
- Coordinate with additional teams, including Risk and Compliance, on proper procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Progress toward CFA Charter, MBA, or Master’s in quantitative discipline desired
- Strong understanding of discounted cash flows associated with valuation of fixed income securities
- 3-7 years of investment industry experience
- Minimum 2-4 years in investment valuation/pricing role
- Understanding of nuanced asset types, including: Bank Loans, Commercial Mortgage Loans, Derivatives
- Ability to communicate and interact directly with senior investment personnel in a manner that clearly articulates solutions and conveys confidence
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL and VBA a strong plus
- Familiarity with investment technology platforms and systems. Exposure to BlackRock Solutions Aladdin® and Bloomberg is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines (e.g., month-end, & quarter-end)
