Position Summary :
S&P Global is looking for an experienced Scrum Master to work with software development teams on major funded projects (EDM, Private Markets) and initiatives across multiple product areas.
This full-time Scrum Master role is to be based out of the Manchester office in the UK (we also have an office in London). The teams are distributed in the UK, USA, India, and Eastern Europe.
We have a great office location in central Manchester and in London it's in Moorgate. Home working has become the 'norm' during the last few years, but the drive is to have an increase in 'anchor days' in the office. Hours are normal UK office hours with some flexibility.
The role is a great opportunity to make an impact on delivery practices in a fast-paced financial service software organization driven by innovation and an agile mindset.

Duties and Accountabilities :
  • Full-time scrum master role working with multiple teams operating across multiple time-zones
  • Facilitates standard timeboxed scrum 'events' and ensures that meetings achieve their objectives
  • Develop, maintain, and adapt strategies that measurably enhance delivery efficiencies, consistency, and drive delivery milestones
  • Use industry standard tools to support communication, delivery, and improvements (MS Teams, Azure DevOps / JIRA, Confluence)
  • Reduce noise and confusion: ensure that every stakeholder has the information they require to make decisions and do their job
  • Ensure senior management and key stakeholders have a concise and detailed reporting structure that will provide transparency for projects and streams, and clearly highlight progress against milestones
  • Develop performance analytics to support a data driven improvement process.
  • As a member of the Delivery Guild, help to drive improvements, training, and best practices across 'Software Solutions'
Business Competencies :
Education and Experience (E - Essential / D - Desirable)
  • 5+ years' experience in Scrum Master role (E)
  • Experience in monitoring and tracking multiple projects (E)
  • Good understanding of the Scrum Guide, Agile principles, and practices, along with the ability to communicate these to stakeholders and teams (E)
  • Working in a Technology/Software environment; understanding SDLC/SaaS (E)
  • Experience with multiple agile methods, Scrum, Kanban, Scalable Agile, etc. (D)
  • Understanding of the release process and associated document governance (D)
  • Use of Azure DevOps/Jira/Confluence (D)
  • Working in a Global market (multiple time zones) (D)
  • Scrum Master certification (D)
Commercial Awareness :
Preferably has experience in financial software development.
Personal Impact :
  • Technical background and ability to grasp technical concepts; not necessarily a history of programming / testing but this would be an asset
  • Pragmatic, flexible and solutions driven

  • Ability to ask 'Why? And challenge in a constructive manner
